Dealing with the unfortunate is always difficult.  We want to help the needy and what happens is the needy often blame us and try to attack us.  Of course that sad fact of life will never stop us from doing what's right, just like we're not held back by the fact that when we were in need nobody helped us.

The key here is not to stew on the misery but to be ever grateful that we are well off and we're able to help others.  A good sense of humor helps too...
