Hmmm, hadn’t looked at it that way but it’s the same experience here. Seems that it boils down to an immature attitude, that some want us paying higher taxes to spread the wealth around and when we balk they flip out like spoiled kids in a toy store being told ‘no’.
I can sympathize with the protectionist mindset and it's been going on since the country was founded (New England almost seceded over similar issues). To protect some American businesses we often end up hurting other American businesses and making our products less competitive. Nonetheless that doesn't take the sting out of losing your job because the factory moved and I can imagine the pain is just as severe whether the factory moved to a sun-belt state or to a foreign country.
