Police have summoned Tim Profitt to appear before a judge to face an assault charge after a scuffle was caught on tape outside the KET Studios in Lexington before Jack Conway and Rand Paul's debate Monday night.
Today, Profitt says he fears for his safety and has received numerous death threats after others have watched the incident on tape. He says his actions were misunderstood.
'I feared for his safety," Profitt explained.
In the video, it appears to some that 23-year-old Lauren Valle is wrestled down to the ground by Rand Paul Supporters and then stomped on.
But to Tim Profitt, the the situation is much different. He says what the video doesn't show is Valle's aggressive behavior. Profitt says she rushed Paul's car three different times; each time refusing to stop. He says at the time, he didn't know what she was trying to do.
"We thought she was a danger; we didn't know what she was doing."
Profitt explained that he used his foot to try and keep her down because he can't bend over because of back problems. He also says police were alerted to watch her before Paul arrived because people in the crown recognized her as someone who may try and pull a stunt.

Man, what a station! Kudos to them for telling the truth about the woman.
Is this what it’s come to? One idiot stepping on another idiot’s head gets outed so what about another idiot who stepped on some other Person’s (idiot status unknown by me) broken foot?
We’re doomed.
There is no excuse for assaulting a woman. None whatsoever. The guy that stomped her head and the guy that took her down are both yellow cowards. If the woman was being aggressive, they should have turned and walked the other way rather than assault her. You never do that to a woman. Never. They’re cowards.
No excuse for his actions
In the video it looked to me like he was pushing on her shoulder, and may have caught her head slightly, but unintentionally.
Yeah, they shoulda just let her get close enough to physically assault the candidate.
Gerald Ford was very nearly a dead president, if she'd had the sense to chamber a round.
and if she was going to assault a Senate candidate you just let her have at it?
makes no sense to me.
Wow, great minds think alike. I thought of Fromme immediately. If she had known that you have to operate the slide of a .45 auto in order to get a round into battery, Ford would have been a dead man.
Cowards? Perhaps, Idiots? Maybe. Were you there? No. Can I imagine a scenario where this might be acceptable, yes. Was this such a scenario? I don't know. Can I say that your "Never" is ignorant? Yep.
I agree. But I ‘ve got $10 that she took a flop for effect.
Yet you seem to be willing to either: excuse her actions (more of which are coming out with time), or you are making a judgement without all of the facts.
As much of an excuse as Ford’s detail had for “assaulting” ‘Squeaky Fromm’? An apparent lunatic aggressively trying to get at Paul with what motive???? He also did not step on her head; he stepped on her shoulder... immobilizing her arm.
Where’s your You Tube video showing how smartly you walk away from a potential attacker attempting to assault you or your preferred candidate, Mistah G Man???
The left wing shows on MSNBC, are expressing outrage over her getting stomped on her head (a lie), though they apparently saw NOTHING wrong with a black conservative being beat down with fists by SEIU union thugs, and ALL of the other violence from left-wing nuts towards conservatives which we see on a REGULAR basis.
I also heard, on MSNBC, that this moonbat had a "confirmed concussion" from her encounter with Paul supporters.
MY ASS!
The idea that women can’t be deadly or aggressive is exactly the sort of blinkered thinking that got Lizzie Borden acquitted.
apologists for ‘CodePinkos Gone Wild’ at FR.. ??
Huh?
I don’t excuse her actions
His response was inappropriate based on the video which was pretty clear
