it doesn’t split the way gay and welfare do.

Maybe 60/40 on the pot. 80/20 or more for gay and welfare.

Are you sure? California prop 19 to legalize pot is polled around 50/50, yet dems (44%) out-register repubs (32%). That would indicate less than 40% of repubs support legalized pot (therefore, smoke pot?). You are saying 60% of repubs smoke pot.

“Maybe 60/40 on the pot. 80/20 or more for gay and welfare.”

Again, Source?

I am rejecting the premise that “plenty of Republicans smoke pot.” Plenty of course can mean a lot of things. But I suspect you are just basing this statement on your personal preference and/or personal experience.

I know about 100 Republicans - that is to say, 100 people that I know well enough to know they are registered Republican.

Not one of them, to my knowledge, smoke pot. Perhaps five I know smoked pot at one time, either experimentally or for a period of time, but none (that I know of) now.

I also don’t know one Republican (that I know of) that is gay.

So, that’s my personal experience.

I am sure some registered Republicans smoke pot, and I am sure that there are some registered Republicans who are homosexual. But I wouldn’t say “plenty,” and I wonder why you do.
