Are three liberal billionaires trying to control what we think of as news in America?
Hedge fund billionaire George Soros, the sugar daddy of the Democratic Party, has given NPR an initial grant of $1.8 million dollars to begin a project called Impact of Government that will allow NPR to hire 100 journalists at NPR member stations in all 50 states. The focus will be covering state governments and how their actions affect people. The New York Times reports the response of Vivian Schiller, NPR's president and chief executive:
Ms. Schiller said the journalists would not be part of typical statehouse coverage, but instead would work on enterprise journalism that looks at how state government decisions play out over years, and extend beyond a single state's borders.
Ann Beeson, executive director of Soros's Open Society, stated that ""We're looking for opportunities to support new models to fill the gap in coverage."
Of course, Soros has other goals in mind, and this is merely seed money for future donations from himself and his liberal allies. Can anyone doubt that coverage will be tilted even more liberal than it already is and will be used to favor Democrats?
This is a gimme and obvious. At the same time, Soros sends a million dollars to Media Matters, a leftist "media monitoring" group that sends out barrages of criticism whenever a news outlet (especially Fox News) reports news that does not fit Media Matters' liberal agenda. Media Matters tries to chill free speech and censor conservatives.

as with others who try to gain ultimate power,Mr Soros will make a mistake that will lead to his downfall. And that may have occured with the Juan Williams firing
Wow, $18,000 each. He gets a lot for his money.
Sounds like we should bombard Media Matters with frivolous class action lawsuits and file them in Conservative friendly courts.
Do what Reagan did to the Soviets. Bankrupt them. We saw what lawsuits did to Palin. We should take a page out of the lefts playbook.
Too easy. Our guys just can’t figure these things out.
Has anyone in Free Republ;ic ever listened to NPR?
I know I don’t.
NPR employees work for George Soros...just keep that in mind.
The Lefties are manipulative micromanagers without consciences and their "playbook" is replete with tricks that reflect their evil nature. They have no qualms cheating to get their way, even though their way has been proven time and time again to be a failed system.
Conservatives IMO will only rarely if ever "take a page out of their playbook" because Conservatives are big picture guys who understand that our systems have a natural equilibrium (i.e. they work on their own when not tinkered with)...and of course we are not ethically challenged.
Divide that by 52 weeks and 40 hours/week. You get $8.65/hour.
Take from that employer paid Social Security, unemployment & disability insurance. Then take away new Obamacare employer health care costs (supported by the Soros funded minions) and what's left probably will not cover the federal minimum wage of $7.25/hour.
I guess they can hire illegals - a practice also supported by the Soros funded minions.
Soros is partnered with Mitt Romney in JET Blue.
Remember that.
Is there any reason that Soros, with his net worth of $40 billion could not create or buy a TV & Radio network?
Could it be that he is afraid of the licensing investigation?
There’s no reason to continue funding NPR & PBS with tax-payer funds (BTW why are they listed as ‘private’?) there are enough informative channels; NATGEO, the History Channel and all of Discovery - plus BBC.
The Bush family also has ties to Soros:

Vivian Schiller is the daughter of Ronald Schiller, a former editor at Reader’s Digest, and Lillian Schiller of Larchmont, New York.[3]
She graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor’s degree in Russian studies and Soviet studies, and a Master’s degree in Russian from Middlebury College.[4]
Career
Prior to leading NPR, Schiller was a senior vice president of NYTimes.com.[4]
NPR —and the Huffington Post-—Islam/Soros compliant. With
the extreme left pulling its like minded elite to their polar
center —and the rest of America ,seeming, thus far — to resist the MTV Gay promotions of the already captured press.
I wonder if there will be a return of the Western—and of the
War movie on the telly which seem to usher in a nation prepared for war?i.e the days when MASH and Bonanza were ruling the family hour.
If George Soros is bankrolling NPR, then there’s no need for the government (read taxpayer) to bankroll them.
It is unbearably smarmy and precious and extremely left wing. It nauseates me to listen to it. The reporters speak as if they are Oracles of Delphi delivering the latest vapidity from the fevered mental swamps of Communist and multicultural psychobabble.
Soros will die soon, and his left wing son will take over.
You’re an excellent and accurate wordsmith!
