NPR terminated the contract of Juan Williams on Wednesday after comments the veteran journalist and news analyst made about Muslims on Fox's "The O'Reilly Factor."
Fox News host Bill O'Reilly stirred up controversy last week on "The View" after making the blanket statement that "Muslims killed us on 9/11," a comment that led to co-hosts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg walking off the set.

Lets see.
We must allow a Mosque near Ground Zero because the emotional feelings of those hurt do not count.
Williams gets fired because he expressed his feelings of fear.
In the former the First Amendment is used as the excuse. In the latter the First Amendment is ignored.
It’s a great story. Shows the hateful liberals for what they are...
It’s a great story. Shows the hateful liberals for what they are... Three cheers for Juan - he stood up to hateful liberals - told the truth and lost his job for it. That takes more backbone than we usually see in a year...
they are bowing down to CAIR
while agreeing with Bill O.
I want to see Andrew Sullivan take a late night stroll through the most crime ridden black neighborhood in Chicago. According to him a white person has no right to suspect black thugs might try to mug him. It’s a good thing for Andrew that he doesn’t come into contact with any thugs in his daily life. He wouldn’t live long if he did.

The Atlantic's Andrew Sullivan wrote Wednesday morning that Williams' statement about fearing Muslims on planes is an example of bigotry. "What if someone said that they saw a black man walking down the street in classic thug get-up," Sullivan wrote. "Would a white person be a bigot [if] he assumed he was going to mug him?'I'm sorry, but I say "no" to that person being a bigot.
In the two hours previous to my post here, the count of comments on the Yahoo newslink numbers 8,909 comments.
That's almost NINE THOUSAND comments! So far (and I've barely brushed the surface), they mostly think NPR is acting in a turdly manner.
I don’t agree with him, but I respect him. He’s not mean-spirited like so many liberals and he doesn’t spend his time trying to discredit the character of the people with whom he disagrees. I like to listen to him to try and understand how liberals think without having to listen to the nastiness they spout. I’ve always been glad he’s on Fox.
NPR needs to be defunded immediately. I pray this becomes a campaign issue.
Facts are not permissible on the liberal media. Even when it’s TAXPAYER FUNDED, the truth is a no-no!!!
Far better than 'machine-gun mouth' Mark Lamont Hill and the permanently off the deep end Alan Colmes.
Hope and Change, baby.
One thing about reading/skimming from the beginning (instead of latest comment first), I see that in Yahoo, you can literally be shouted down -- if your post gets enough negative ratings, they "hide" it due to it low rating; you can't skim it, you have to click on "show comment."
Skimming the threads, I see ONCE AGAIN see evidence that should make the many, many people disgusted with their fellow Americans for being moronic enough to elect Obama ... to repent by realizing that he is falsely accusing his countrymen.
The lie about the "majority" that elect these clowns stands next to the truth that Democrats have to cheat to win. They have to cheat because the liberal mindset is THE MINORITY. We are the majority.
If we weren't, Democrats wouldn't have to cheat to win. That reality is confirmed in the responses at Yahoo, where commentary comes from non-FReepers, nearly 10,000 of them in the matter of a few hours.
The only downer: so many seem to think that for "the truth" they go to Fox News, and that's awful. No, what you get from Fox is a different angle to reflect what the reporters choose to make represent "the right." It's only "the truth" according to their own will, just like the other aphabets.
I agree. NPR has an obligation as long as it is funded by the Federal Government of a pluralistic society, to equally present and respect a spectrum of viewpoints, not merely what ‘progressives’ deem to be the politically correct thing to say.
How 'bout National Poo-poo Radio?
It's a fine name for the way it evokes both scatological and juvenile connotations. Turdliness and childishness have long characterized NPR.
This should be a wake up call everyone especially for Leftists. Coexist, yeah right. Only those with purist Leftist thoughts can be tolerated. This proves that the Leftists at NPR (and everywhere else) are simply totalitarian fascists.
I don’t agree with Juan Williams on anything. But we must support his first amendment rights.
I hope Williams gives serious consideration to a civil rights lawsuit!
