I don’t buy NPR’s explanation for the firing. They said it “violated their standards and practices”, as if he said the comments on NPR, which he didn’t. Which limits free speech for any NPR employee who is a contributor on another separate network.

Gwen Ifill stupidly and incorrectly mocked Sarah Palin's "1773" comment on Ifill's Twitter feed. Ifill came off as a know-nothing with zero sense of
why "1773" would be an important year at a Tea Party gathering.
Ifill should have been fired for ignorance, considering she actually moderated a debate during the 2008 elections.
