I was thinking the same thing - enlisted men are called enlisted for a reason. To become an officer, an officer is given a commission - that is why they are called "commissioned officers".
I would like to see them make him go back through boot camp, and start him out again as an E-1 Private...
I get the feeling he likes being special. To rid him of that attitude, he needs the enlisted boot camp treatment and to start like again at the very bottom of the enlisted ranks...
“To become an officer, an officer is given a commission”
Unfortunately, Choi can (without enlisting) apply for reappointment to his previous rank....that is how it works with former officers. IF a board (which will be subject to pressure) approves his request for reappointment.....then this “man” could be back in a commissioned status.
I’m NOT advocating what I’m about to write, I’m merely predicting. Unless he is put in a “safe” area....he will be “fragged” like in Vietnam. He is a fool to push this.
Sadly, not only will he eventually be “fragged” but before that happens he will run numerous careers by filling repeated “discrimination” complaints that authorities will have to act on. When some good NCOs and Officers are ruined by this individual, it just makes him a bigger target by those troops that will be angered. This is really a very bad idea.
I hope the policy is reinstated by a higher court before this disaster can unfold. I senseless loss of life and careers so a homosexual can make a political statement.
Yep, I can hear the whining now..."Whaaaa, the mean old drill sergeant called us LADIES! That's not fair!!!"
