Not many authors on a book tour manage to snag a visit with the president of the United States. But Condoleezza Rice is no ordinary book author. The former secretary of state and onetime national security adviser met one-on-one with President Obama at the White House on Friday afternoon, after a week of television appearances promoting "Extraordinary, Ordinary People," her memoir about her parents. The White House said Obama wanted to discuss a range of foreign policy issues with her.

This really is a sad turn of events.
Even with her education and experience Condi lets her judgement be clouded by meaningless differences.
Operation: Bojinka was a plot to simultaneously explode 12 jetliners over the Pacific.
The unnamed plot to use passenger jets as missiles was something that was discovered on Ramzi Yousef's computer after he set fire to his apartment in Cebu, Philippines (where Terry Nichols frequently visited prior to the OKC bombing, oddly enough).
Just a minor correction. Your main point remains valid. Rice flat-out lied about not knowing of existing plans to use aircraft as missiles.
It would be funny if Rice took the job, though. In his quest for legitimacy O winds up with W’s Secretary of Defense, his top general, and then finally W’s Secretary of State too?
Rice is dead to me! How can she defend 0bama?
Well, maybe the press is spinning it, and exaggerating her support for Obama.
Nevertheless, she is smart enough to know that she shouldn’t be visiting Obama in the White House just a couple of weeks before the election. Because of course they will spin it.
Same thing I said about Ann Coulter’s agreement to give a talk at GOProud. It hardly matters what she might say. What matters is that she is giving them credibility they do not deserve.
Well, I think Condi is simply saying that everything Obama does isn’t wrong. Pretty close, but not 100%.
A race thing? I doubt it. Walter Williams at GMU (and of Rush Limbaugh fame) wouldn’t vote for Obama under any set of circumstances.
I say that because I know Walter Williams.
Hillary must be seething over this......
Maybe she had a message for Obama?
That's not what she said at all. What she actually said was that essentially NOTHING he's done is wrong:
"Nothing in this president's methods suggests this president is other than a defender of America's interests," Rice told an audience that included presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett.
This was not just a case of being polite. Her statement was simply, factually false, and she could have easily come up with some blandly polite pablum that didn't include a lie. Whatever her reasons may have been, Rice's comment was shamefully inappropriate and cynically dishonest.
Circling the wagons.
I wonder if she knows what a hypocrite she is.
It used to be said that “politics stops at the water’s edge”.
I have always said that I would bet good money that she voted for Obama if we could find a way to prove it.
It’s in the blood.
Does not matter, now does it?
A sellout is a sellout.
I think it's a color thing.
And I used to think Condi had some brains.....I was way wrong.
You'd think I'd learn after 40+ years.....
Karl Rove and Dick Cheny fit right into your dumbass description.
She believes it. Condi had good things to say about Obama in the 2008 race. It was obvious to me that she was going to vote for him. Just like Colin Powell, race trumps Conservatism.
thx
