It’s legit all right. The nutballs at Dr. CON’s site are out of their minds. Even CON had to reign in their silliness.
Here is the law. Hawaii has to comply with their own law.

Ҥ338-13 Certified copies. (a) Subject to the requirements of sections 338-16, 338-17, and 338-18, the department of health shall, upon request, furnish to any applicant a certified copy of any certificate, or the contents of any certificate, or any part thereof.

(b) Copies of the contents of any certificate on file in the department, certified by the department shall be considered for all purposes the same as the original, subject to the requirements of sections 338-16, 338-17, and 338-18.

(c) Copies may be made by photography, dry copy reproduction, typing, computer printout or other process approved by the director of health. [L 1949, c 327, §17; RL 1955, §57-16; am L Sp 1959 2d, c 1, §19; HRS §338-13; am L 1978, c 49, §1]”

Psst...the regulation is talking about supplying a certified copy of a short form COLB!
Like the poster quoted below from obamaconspiracy.org, I am waiting for a formal, written response from Dr. Alvin T. Onaka, Registrar of Vital Statistics for the state of Hawai’i.

“Reality Check October 20, 2010 at 9:17 pm Reality Check(Quote) # I called the Hawaii Department of Vital Statistics and the office of Alvin T. Onaka, the Registrar for the State of Hawaii, and they said they WILL NOT supply the “long form” birth certificates just as Janice Okubo stated. The computer generated certificate is absolutely all that they will supply. Someone is not truthful and I have an idea who that might be.”

Oh, and I am now PROUDLY displayed on the Free Republic wall of donors!

Sure, some guy "calls up Hawaii" and gets told what he wants to hear. LoL!

You do see the words "furnish to any applicant"

and do you see the words "any certificate" and the words " or the contents of any certificate, or any part thereof" below?

"§338-13 Certified copies. (a) Subject to the requirements of sections 338-16, 338-17, and 338-18, the department of health shall, upon request, furnish to any applicant a certified copy of any certificate, or the contents of any certificate, or any part thereof."

any (enē)

adjective

  1. one, no matter which, of more than two: any pupil may answer
  2. some, no matter how much or how little, how many, or what kind: he can't tolerate any criticism
  3. without limit: entitled to any number of admissions
  4. even one; the least amount or number of: I haven't any dimes
  5. every: any child can do it
  6. of considerable size or extent: we won't be able to travel any distance before nightfall

Pssst..."any" doesn't mean only the short form COLB.
