I've followed that one all along. Manuel Beltran, the Midland P.D. officer who talked with her throughout the rescue effort, was something of a protege of mine in Midland. He went on to distinguish himself as a detective.

The pediatrician waiting when Jessica was brought out had cared for my firstborn for two years, and the orthopedic surgeon who worked on her after the ordeal had operated on me (the day after my first ever Father's Day).

We'd moved from Midland three years before the incident, but watching it all unfold on TV really took us back there!
