Not to be pessimistic, but you know that something is going to come up to take its place. This time, however, more people (certainly not all people) will be skeptical.

The only thing I find odd is; it took the (Russians?) to break this hoax.

Thanks for the post, I have read James Delingpole previously. He is right and vocal. The giants no longer walk the earth
The same can be said for the "giants", the framers of our Constitution. The Political Cretin that inhabit Washington are no different from the Frauds who inhabit the Climate Science world. They must be expunged. The lies exposed and the nation righted.

Is it any wonder why so many are so skeptical of so much. Personally I don’t believe a word I hear from any politician, MSM personality, or so called scientist. In fact if B. Hussein Obama announced and the MSM reported that according to the brightest scientists in the country, the sun will rise in the east tomorrow morning, I’d be up at the crack of dawn with a compass just to make sure!

Anyone who has the faintest doubt that this is so should force himself to read the ClimateGate documents, which lay it bare. (Montfords book organizes the facts very well.) I dont believe that any real physicist, nay scientist, can read that stuff without revulsion. I would almost make that revulsion a definition of the word scientist. Yes, well said. The revulsion he speaks of should be widespread and unavoidable among scientists. Those who signed on to the hoax publicly wear that shame. How can anyone ever trust their work?

I just sent a message of support to Professor Lewis for his courage for standing up for REAL science and the truth.
Here’s his email....
hlewis@physics.ucsb.edu
I’m sure he would appreciate hearing from people that share his position. Let’s provide as much support and encouragement to people with his integrity.

Great article and kudos to the good professor Lewis for taking a principled stand. Government grants etc, our tax dollars at work, have bought and paid for pseudoscience for how long I wonder? It’s bad enough they fund our own in-house academic charlatans but that’s not enough. They spread they wealth around the world to get others to join in the feeding frenzy and sign off on the science fiction. Damn them all to hell!

Lewis writes "When Penn State absolved Mike Mann of wrongdoing, and the University of East Anglia did the same for Phil Jones, they cannot have been unaware of the financial penalty for doing otherwise."
I have a slighly different view. The gravy train is rolling for those two "scientists" no matter what the investigations found. But the corruption is mainly in the other direction. Government has everything to gain with global warming and will always fund research that results in the outcome they want. The fact that there are institutions on the receiving end willing to do the whitewashing, etc is actually secondary, the primary corruption lies in the government bureaucracies and their political controllers.
