The Talk Shows
Sunday, October 10th, 2010
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Reps. Eric Cantor, R-Va., and Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla.; political strategists Karl Rove and Joe Trippi.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Illinois Senate nominees Mark Kirk, a Republican, and Alexi Giannoulias, a Democrat.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Presidential adviser David Axelrod; former Republican National Committee chairman Ed Gillespie.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Connecticut Senate nominees Linda McMahon, a Republican, and Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat; former President Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan; French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Reps. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., and Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.; former CIA Director Michael Hayden.
Candidate O promised to abide by campaign finance rules and then after McCain made the commitment it was O who said........oops, changed my mind.
O took foreign donations by the millions.
Meet the Press - questioning both candidates on personal issues:
Gianoullias says he left family bank in 2005, but IRS records says he claimed he worked hundreds of hours in 2006 allowing him to not pay federal taxes in 2009. Giannoulias says my father came here as an immigrant(cue violins) - helped thousands of people achieve their dreams (including Rezko?)
Kirk quotes mob names that Gianoullias’ bank gave loans to. Gianoullias says Kirk doesn’t understand what it’s like to work in the private sector.
Wasserwoman drank the Jim Jones Kool Aid and is pooping the Democrats talking points better than anyone I can think of.
Alice Rivlin. I believe she was Clinton’s budget director.
She has a new statement out about social security which is being ignored big time by the msm.
Supposedly there is to be an up or down vote on the commission’s recommendations.
After the election, of course.
How’s the weather this morning..........
Here is what I just sent Bret Baier via email:
Bret: I love you man, but the interview/debate with Cantor an Schultz was a bust!
You let Schultz run off at the mouth with all the standard, worn out, and false talking points, then let both interrupt each other so much, that no rational viewer could understand either side of any argument - other than demonstrating Washington's "stupidity and rudeness" business as usual.
Please...in the future, buy two muzzles, and take turns removing them from your guests, so maybe we can understand the arguments. Cart each one out on hand trucks like "Silence of the Lambs". This was worse than having an ice pick in each ear!
Overcast, cloudy and 50 out on the deck. There?
Karl is hitting home runs every time he speaks about what the administration is doing and how disgusting it is. The democrat rep(don’t know who it was) was at a loss for any counter remarks. It’s about time the gloves are coming off and the Republicans are exposing this administration for what it really is and doing so on television
Agree! I was wishing Ryan was debating Washerwoman instead of Cantor. I was initially impressed with Cantor, lately, not so much. He doesn’t seem to think on his feet quite so quickly as others and IMHO isn’t always such a great debater - - he doesn’t seem to be in command of the facts and/or doesn’t articulate them as well as he could. Just my $.02.
You’re absolutely right, as always, Morgan. Wish Cantor had articulated that.
MTP - Gregory questions Kirk on errors/exaggerations about his military record.
Kirk - says he made mistakes, was careless about his records. Kirk says he has corrected records, apologized; it’s been humbling. Giannoulias turns to questioning Kirk’s voting record.
I heard that, too. They also indicated that she wouldn’t discuss her proposal until after the election.
I think you’re right about fooling the public about a ‘compromise’.
Agree on Cantor. I was at the VA Tea Party convention on Friday and Saturday. Many voters in Cantor’s district are not happy with him. He couldn’t even find the time to show up even though the convention was held in Richmond.
Pat, God bless you for all of the work you do, but why are you posting on a public forum inside news about disarray in the O’Donnell campaign? Why give information and solace to her political opponents (in and out of the media)?
This Week:
Paul Krugman claims the tea party is making the GOP irrational and George Will counters the tea party taps into the DNA of conservatives to influence the party.
Krugman is representative of the left. They don’t get it, or they are purposely ignoring the truth.
This whole panel acts bewildered over every issue, and then misstates it.
George Will tries but it’s difficult with every other panelist making comments that are so wrong. On each issue brought up, the left accuses the right of doing things the left has done for years. And these people wonder why so few believe them anymore.
Absolutely brilliant , eloquent and succinct analysis!!
Have you thought of giving Roger Ailes a call to volunteer on fox news as a political analyst!
Everyone laughs at Debbie’s lying and ‘dumb blonde’ act...the reality is she knows EXACTLY what she is doing and does it very very well.
You bring up the good point...conservatives are so serious and honest, that , on the TV soundbites won’t work! We need also to , while being honest, create slap back sound bites!
I just saw a thread on the Cantor-Washerwoman ‘debate’ (note that the initial post says Ryan debated her, but it was corrected downthread). There’s also mention that Ryan debated her recently and walked all over her.

One thing I didn’t know and found interesting:
Shes edgy because her sister, Diana Wasserman-Rubin (a former Broward County Commissioner), is facing seven felony charges.

Also watching MTP. This is a two on one “debate” with Gregory helping the Dem. After just 20 minutes on the issues, Gregory goes to personal issues. The Dems strategy this election cycle is to employ the politics of personal destruction and avoid the issues. Gregory is helping the Dems in this regard.
...'from what I saw the Tea Party has about 30% of the Republicans, but nothing beyond that. And some independents.
also did ya notice Klein makes a point and instantly Gregory has a chart to “prove it”
