Brown or aide is heard slurring Whitman
Los Angeles Times ^

Posted on 10/07/2010 11:02:00 PM PDT by FloridaSunrise

In a private conversation inadvertently captured by voicemail, Democratic gubernatorial nominee Jerry Brown or one of his associates can be heard referring to his Republican opponent Meg Whitman as a "whore," saying she cut a deal protecting law enforcement pensions while the two candidates competed for police endorsements.

The comment came after Brown called the Los Angeles Police Protective League in early September to ask for its endorsement. He left a voicemail asking Scott Rate, a union official, to call him, then apparently believed he had hung up the phone. The voicemail captured the ensuing conversation between Brown and his aides.

This is an updated version of a previous story. The Times is now saying that the orginal "Whitman is a whore" outburst may have been from Jerry Brown himself!

I heard portions of the tape..first you hear someone else saying something about Meg being a whore, then Jerry says “Yeah let’s use that.” The guy on Fox 11 here was wondering if Gloria Allred will come out and defend Meg against the sexist and nasty slur that came out of Brown’s mouth..then he started laughing and said “Yeah right” everyone knows she won’t

They have an enhanced version of the tape that the L.A. Times says sounds like Jerry Brown. They are waiting for a response from the Brown campaign and with whose identity it is, if not Jerry Brown himself.

This just might be the tape that seals the deal for Brown. The race is still tight here, even with the housekeeper BS involving Whitman..I am not a big fan of Whitman but Brown is a scumbag and I DON’T want him to win. If this tape can bring Brown down I hope they play it over and over and over again

Right.
Gloria doesn’t give a rip about women.
She just uses women to make money, because Gloria is a lousy lawyer.

The majority of liberals hate women. They go after Conservatives for their supposed hate but its really the liberals who hate women, minorities, etc. Jerry Brown makes Ahhnold look Conservative and that says A LOT

Meg Whitman’s spokeswoman, Sarah Pompei, responded tonight: “The use of the term “whore” is an insult to both Meg Whitman and to the women of California. This is an appalling and unforgivable smear against Meg Whitman. At the very least Mr. Brown tacitly approved this despicable slur and he himself may have used the term at least once on this recording.”

Well stated!

Will Brown be the target of outrage for his “macaca” ?
Or will he get a double standard pass?

He definitely used the term. It’s him, at least one of the times it’s said.

What that he would use vile names to describe his opponent?
I can only imagine the types or words that are thrown around in some political meetings especially when you are dealing with individual who have no moral compass

Ironically, Mr. Union used the term to mean Meg is whoring herself to the unions — she pretends to come down hard on them but has a sweetheart deal with one union to “exempt” it to get their endorsement.

This campaign is crazy. Up is down. Cats and dogs are sleeping together. The theme song of the CA Governor’s Race is Katy Perry’s “Hot and Cold.”
