Further Scrutiny for White House Over Koch Comment
WSJ ^ | 10/6/10 | John D. McKinnon

The Treasury inspector general for tax matters will investigate whether the Obama White House improperly divulged private taxpayer information about Koch Industries, a company owned by wealthy conservative critics of the administration.

The most likely answer still appears to be no, and the White House simply made a slip when a senior official suggested that Koch doesn’t pay corporate-level taxes. The company has issued a statement since then saying it does indeed pay corporate taxes.

But at a minimum, the new investigation will keep alive the broader question of how – and why – the administration made the apparent mistake. Koch Industries has said it believes the White House official’s statement “was politically motivated.” It notes that President Obama himself also made disparaging remarks recently about a prominent conservative political organization, Americans for Prosperity, that has ties to company owner David Koch.

I take it this typist (I refuse to call him either a “writer” or a “journalist”) is a lib. How else does one explain his excusing SOBama’s top lawyers and tax counselors for making such a “slip”? Hogwash. This was a carefully orchestrated hit on the opposition. And we can expect a lot more of it (along with a lot more of this typist excusing it all as “apparent.”)

Tax info is just part of it, I suspect. Look for a dossier about David himself, likely part of an ‘enemies list on steroids.’

We are a de facto dictatorship. All Obozo would need to do is to carry out a really unpopular policy by today's methods for the people to realize it.

You mean like some bill that has to pass before we can know what is in it?

If the spokespeople shouldn’t have had access to the information “slipped”, how can it possibly be just a “slip”?

Wow, the “reporting” sure is different from the Bush Administration, where if an obscure bureaucrat was suspected of taking home office supplies...he was headlined as a BUSH AIDE CAUGHT STEALING!

Reminds me of Sandy Burger with secret documents buried in his buttocks and claimed it was an honest mistake.

How does one do that by accident? “I am sorry your honor, I do not recall how tope secret documents were placed in my buttocks.” I suppose the ACLU could figure it out.

They often probe the nether regions for the truth.
