The Obama administration announced Wednesday that in the past year it deported more than 392,000 unauthorized immigrants - a record.
Officials at the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency said that 195,000 of these removals, during the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, were convicted criminals. They included more than 1,000 murderers, nearly 6,000 sex-offenders, 45,000 drug-offenders and 28,000 drunk drivers.
The percentage of deported unauthorized immigrants who are criminals has soared in recent years, in keeping with a new emphasis at the Department of Homeland Security to use immigration enforcement as a crime-fighting tool.
"We've made a decision to go after criminal aliens and prioritize them for removal," said Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. She added, "It has been another record-breaking year at ICE - one that has seen ICE enforce the law at record levels, and in sensible, firm and thoughtful ways."

O’Reilly was just sucking up to Janet Napolitano over this. I just sent him an e-mail:

Bill,
You didn’t do your homework before your suck-up session with Janet Napolitano.
Why didn’t you ask her about DHS’ recent “backdoor amnesty” policy to dismiss thousands of deportation cases against suspected illegal immigrants.
Her lame justification is: “This is hardly amnesty; those individuals who have been convicted of more than two felonies within a six month period could still possibly face a hearing and maybe even deportation,” said Napolitano.
Do you believe this? They have to commit 3 or more felonies in a 6 month period and then they can POSSIBLY face a hearing and MAYBE deportation.
Do you commend her for this also?

The U.S. Forest Service in a press release after a raid on a grow operation in the CA woods referred to the illegal nabbed as a "Displaced foreign traveler."
How's that for putting a happy face on it?
Good points, but O'Reilly ignores any email longer than a couple of sentences.
Fair enough. I ignore O'Reilly after his first sentence.
392,000 out of 30,000,000 - 40,000,000 illegal aliens. Considering our wide open borders, how many are already back?
O’Reilly should have asked Napolitano why DHS raids employers of illegals but lets the illegals go when they do a raid.
Napolitano would have answered that they don’t have enough agents/beds etc. The follow up question would be, what are you doing to get the resources you need?
The real answer to that question is that DHS doesn’t want to deport anybody who would be eligible for the next amnesty. Unfortunately, a GOP POTUS like Romney might be able to get amnesty passed in 2013 if Obama can’t do it.
The way O’R sucked up to Know Nothing Napolitano was nauseating-—telling her she was doing a great job-—and other nonsense.
She wouldn’t even answer key questions—and O’R let her get away with it—even telling her she could come on anytime.
That’s great. Now, where is border enforcement?
Probably moving in from Arizona, Oklahoma and less inviting places . . .
But seriously, I would bet the sucky economy has moved voluntary deportations way up. If you can get Uncle Sap to pay for your food stamps, medical care and housing when you're here, why not also have him buy your ticket home to visit la familia?
” The real answer to that question is that DHS doesnt want to deport anybody who would be eligible for the next amnesty. Unfortunately, a GOP POTUS like Romney might be able to get amnesty passed in 2013 if Obama cant do it. “
I will NOT vote for anyone who is for amnesty. Masochism is not my thang. Let a Democrat destroy the country. Obama will try very hard to destroy us with this soon.
Deportations up? 16 per year instead of 12?
