FYI:
On Explorer, I’m using
In-Private mode
When InPrivate Browsing is turned on, you will see this indicator
(up in the url bar)
InPrivate Browsing helps prevent Internet Explorer from storing data about your browsing session. This includes cookies, temporary Internet files, history, and other data. Toolbars and extensions are disabled by default. See Help for more information.
To turn off InPrivate Browsing, close this browser window.
Explorer info:

Firefox also now has a private browsing mode.

I’m using them all the time for google, the Big Brother Obama spying creeps.
Thanks, I’m saving this info. Will check it out tomorrow and install or whatever it’s called.
The In private is a good feature. Also, you might consider switching to another search engine. I stopped using Google some months back because of their attitude about privacy (doesn’t exist) and use this instead:
Scroogle Scraper It’s a pretty good search engine
http://www.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/scraper.htm
They tweak Google all the time with cartoons etc. and guarantee that there are no cookies or no search term records and they delete the access log w/i 48 hours.
Thank you for that information, I’ll be using it whenever I do searches from now on.
AND thank you for the ping star :)
I’m using Bing but wonder if there is much difference?
Re: “private mode”:
A) Google still sees your IP address, and hence can associate your search data with that; and
B) No matter what your privacy setting or even alternative search engines are, your Internet service provider sees every single bit coming and going from your house. (Except for encrypted data....) How much do you trust them?
[singing] Santa Clause is comin’ to town...
Thanks STARWISE.
Wow. Thanks. I added scroogle and IMDB to my list of search engines on Firefox. Haven’t used googly for a long time now.
