ISLAMABAD -Pakistan closed the most important supply route for U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan after a coalition helicopter attack killed three Pakistani soldiers at a border post Thursday, raising tensions in a vital relationship for both Islamabad and Washington. NATO said its helicopters entered Pakistani airspace and hit a target only after receiving ground fire. The alliance expressed condolences to the families of the soldiers and said both nations would investigate the incident. A lengthy ban on supply trucks would place intense strain on the U.S.-Pakistani relationship and hurt the Afghan war effort. But that was seen as unlikely, as neither Islamabad nor Washington can afford a meltdown in ties at a crucial time in the 9-year-old war. Briefly closing the route would serve a different purpose — a timely reminder by Pakistan of the leverage it has over the United States in Afghanistan just as the American-led coalition there is under growing public and political pressure to show success. The blockade left 150 trucks lined up along the fabled Khyber Pass carrying fuel, military vehicles, spare parts, clothing and other non-lethal supplies for foreign troops. Pakistan's other main route into landlocked Afghanistan, in Chaman in the southeast, stayed open.

How do you define the “right people,” though?
Bush definition: The people whose values are inimical to the US’, who oppose democracy, freedom, free enterprise and apple pie, or want to conquer the world and remake it in their own image, which usually entails opposition to the aforementioned list anyway.
Obama definition: The people least likely to commit heinous acts of violence and make your approval ratings drop. Israelis, Britons, and other allies are thus his targets of choice.
Since 0 done pissed away all our $$ as well as our ability to generate same I don’t see how we can offer $$ aid to anyone.

Yep all of those countries over there that end in -tan will have to be “rebuilt” in the future mind as well start with Pakistan now than later.
What one must do is to respect sovereignty of nations lest our own sovereignty be violated.

In the end if Islam is not stopped in the West, nothing happening overseas will matter.
1. Make an alliance with India.
2. Bomb Pakistan in coordination with an Indian invasion of Pakistan.
3. Subject Pakistan to a ruthless Indian/American occupation and destroy all Islamists and their Mosque/schools/training centers.

It would be emotionally gratifying until we have a situation to deal with in all the other Islamic states from Indonesia to Morocco, comprising some 1.2 billion people, as well as parts of the Philippines, Paris, Berlin, London, Madrid... But I like the part about an alliance with India. India is the country to be allied with, whether you’re Israel or the US. Doubt they’d go along with the invasion thing, though. Ally with India and listen to India. They’ve been dealing with Islamic imperialism a lot longer than anyone else, and they know how it’s done.
