My only issue is with his chronology. The British blockade did not start after WW II. It was ongoing throughout the 1930’s and ‘40’s, and was often carried out in international waters, and the ships were often scuttled with all on board drowned (read Ben Hecht’s Perfidy on that subject). The British knew what was going on in Europe, as Menachem Begin attests in Hamered (Revolt!), I forget which chapter, and actively prevented refugees in danger of their lives from reaching safe haven. Now enforcing the blockade of Aza is “completely unacceptable,” is it?! My answer is a gesture with one finger, and some completely unacceptable @##$@$@#$@$@#$@#$@$@#$@$@$#$@%$#$%#$%#!@@#!#!#!#!#!@#!#!.
Yes, that's true. When they captured ships, they sank them, though I question whether they were sunk with refugees on board.
