War crimes? Are you Freaking serious? Look to Sherman for war crimes, Lee was an honorable gentleman soldier, Sherman was not.
You do know Sherman killed Indians later in his career right?
Just so you know that he helped wipe out the freedom of Native Americans... And the War was for more than slavery, Lincoln was far more concerned about States rights than that, you lost any chance to resist the Federal govt after that.

Lee’s warcrimes included murder of captured US soldiers, forcing captured US soldiers to prepare defenses, and torture of captured US soldiers.

Of course you will claim that was legal too.
