There are plenty of fools, fellow travelers, and useful idiots that would do everything humanly possible to make sure no harm ever comes to either of them. Some of them probably have done so over the years, I would speculate.
I think one of the problems is that they are leftist democrat pet icons, paramilitary revolutionary activists, they get plenty of protection and cover
