No poster on the thread has suggested the 'pledge' is perfect. It's nothing more than a start, placed in writing to say to prospective voters what the Nov. 2010 GOP candidates are for. Unfortunately, the electorate in this country is not as educated or conservative as those on FR. (Exhibit A is presently in the WH). We are American Idol Elects A President. That means in a pratical way that it will be a game of inches and an incremental strategy of continually making gains is the winning formula. That means some RINOs stay, FOR NOW, if they beat the better conservative in the primary. But imho, we're making some great strides in turning congress much more conservative.
The best thing that could happen after we take the House is Speaker Pence and Leader DeMint. The moderates in the party are a distinct, and fearful, minority. This is a good thing, not bad.
Btw, you do realize that the ferocity of your YELLING at fellow conservatives for not being pure enough is the perfect strategy for a DU troll on a conservative site.
I am not a "purist" by any stretch of the imagination, but when the GOP CONTINUES to throw up RINOs even though they know the tide has turned (Murkowski, Castle and a host of others) it shows that the GOP is not worthy of our trust.
And for you and others to continue your rants on why conservatives should abandon their principles and vote for a party that has, with the liberal Dems, pretty much destroyed our great Republic, is not winning very many over to your side of the issue.
You and other persist in attacking fellow conservative because they do not automatically and blindly agree to cast their votes for the GOP. So just as with the '06 and '08 elections, if the GOP losses again, it is no ones fault but their own...
