Beat might be too strong of a word, though it’s been said that he would smack her at times. Joe had some problems.

LOL!

Joe was not a wife beater. He strongly disagreed with the Hollywood crowd and their immoral lifestyle. This is why at her funeral he REFUSED to allow the Hollywood elite to be there. It is also true that he stated, “they killed her.” They, Hollywood and their exploitation of “stars” is what contributed to her death. She got caught up in it. If I were him, I'd also NOT want my wife to be part of THAT and on display like she was.
