I think Jesus cared deeply about the needs of the poor, but the intent, is that we, as believers care for them, not that we give the Government our money so that they can allocate it however they would like....
It’s about our personal responsibility... Based on “Love one another as I have loved you”, and being my brothers “keeper”.
In no way does God’s word allocate that to the Government, but to GOD’S people.... to give “with a joyful heart” to those in need.
If the Govt. is taking all we have (wealth redistribution) than we will likely have nothing left to “give to the poor”!
Watch out for organizations by the way, that are branches of WISDOM, who trained the great O, and who go by Biblical acronyms, for the sake of deceiving pastors and using profits to promote a leftist agenda!!
“In no way does Gods word allocate that to the Government, but to GODS people.... to give with a joyful heart to those in need.”
Spot on! The church’s role is to feed the hungry, etc. that way there is some honest oversight. Giving to those truly in need and not freeloaders. There is also a blessing in personally giving to others that is taken away from us if we let the government take that responsibility away from us.
By allowing the government to take the responsibility of feeding the poor we set up the government as our god. It also allows for “vote buying” of an entire class of people.
Is it any wonder why Jesus’s chosen profession was a carpenter, a builder and creator.
Jesus cared about the poor and gave to them unselfishly not because He was forced to by the government but out of a higher futy, a higher calling.
Jesus gave willingly and voluntarily. He showed us all the true way and the path to salvation.
