Today, brain dead, vapid human beings who have contributed nothing to society are idolized and followed as though they invented the wheel. We’ve actually got two industries devoted to presenting the illusion and reality of celebrity: Hollywood shows the photo-shopped, CGI-enhanced, scripted version, while the paparazzi and weekly glossies reveal the drug-addicted, affair-crazed, family breaking, soul-less emptiness.

The DOW makes a lousy long-term economic indicator. For one thing, the components are changed from time to time. You aren't comparing old apples to new. You can't compare Apple to Microsoft (because APPL isn't in the index). And you can't compare new MSFT to old MSFT — because MSFT wasn't added until 1999.

I think it's worse than a depression. Profit has always been the engine that has driven the US economy. And now profit has essentially been ostracized. Businesses only hire people if they believe those people will somehow generate more revenue than they cost the business.

Folks, this article is right on the money!!! We, the people, have one shot to correct and reset the American course to the future, and that is Election Day, November 2, 2010. A day doesn't go by that I thank God that we still have a roof over our heads, jobs and food on the table. It scares me every time I go to the grocery store and see how expensive food and other essentials have become. Normally I would load up the cart but these days I pass up on a lot of stuff. God help us, our grand-kids and our country. Come October a few of us have decided to go on a 21 days of fasting and prayer. We SO need God's mercy and I ain't giving up without a spiritual fight with the enemy... I love my grandchildren and country too much to let it fall into the enemies hands without petitioning God for mercy. I pray come November those we put in office will acknowledge Almighty God as the head of this country and reach out to Israel and help her against her enemies.

These are good facts to bring up when Republicans take back the Congress. At that point, they could go for impeachment. Then bring this country back to what it is supposed to be. This would show the world that the United States is back and won’t put up the radicals of the rest of the world.

More than 40 million Americans (12%) are on Food stamps. Nearly one in five of us are unemployed of underemployed. Folks go to Wal-Mart at 11PM waiting for their government checks to clear at midnight so they can buy baby formula, milk and other necessities. Three out of every five Americans are overweight. One in five are obese.

We are the first generation since the history of mankind to have "poor fat people."

And more government programs (like Muchelle Obama's "Let's Move!") that encourage people to eat more apples won't make them skinny either.

Speaking of the UN. I have seen hundreds of extra cops in midtown Manhattan along with tons of federal and state LEOs. The third-world nation diplomats are being chauffeured around in Escalade SUVs parking anywhere they want and staying in the Waldorf and the Palace.

What a waste of my money. I’d love to get this kind of treatment in their turd hole home country.
