I would however like to see more choices in the primaries, and better choices than we had last time...and hear them all talk about issues, policy... Simple popularity and enthusiasm are not enough.Duncan Hunter was willing and able to talk about the issues, but nobody wanted to hear what he had to say because he made too much sense.

Duncan Hunter is a perfect example of the fact that you have to have popularity and enthusiasm. Otherwise you end up with 1% of the vote. I think Duncan Hunter was the best conservative of the lot last time. And inspired NO ONE.
In this day and age, you've got to be able to inspire people. Otherwise, we would just read their resume and their outlined positions and vote. For better or worse, it doesn't work that way.

Duncan Hunter was great. He was very inspiring in person. He spoke with passion and love of country. One Memorial Day speech brought tears to my eyes.
