STOCKHOLM Sweden became the latest European nation to see a breakthrough for populist right-wingers Sunday, when the anti-immigration Sweden Democrats won their first parliamentary seats in elections that failed to produce a clear outcome.
The prime minister, Fredrik Reinfeldt, who led an alliance of four parties, claimed victory and is almost certain to become the first leader from Swedens center-right since World War II to serve two consecutive terms.
But, with all the votes counted, the countrys election authority said his alliance was three seats short of the 175 needed for a parliamentary majority.
Nevertheless, Mr. Reinfeldt ruled out working with the Sweden Democrats and called on other parties to support him, a declaration that suggested that Sweden may be headed for a minority government. We will not cooperate with the Sweden Democrats, we will not make ourselves dependent on them, he said in front of party workers.

“Swedish Anti-Immigration Party Claims Seats”
I wonder... Are they anti-immigrant, or are they anti-illegal immigrant, or anti-a-particular-type-of-immigrant?
They shouldn’t allow the media to brand them as anti-immigration but more as border secuirty advocates.
Branding is important in the public eye.
Maybe the Germans and Merkel will wake up. The Dutch are as well as the Danes. Northern Italy gets it. The Poles, Austrians and most of the Swiss get it.
Meanwhile Americans keeps supporting the Six sharia TV networks which own all the TV channels. They all s*ck and all support sharia - you ball game viewership keeps them in business - dhiminis. Oh yes - you watch Fox which is partially owned by the Sau*i king’s nephew. They all s*ck.
Maybe we will get a real network from Conservative TV that Kelsey Grammer is trying to start.
The others (CNN,Fox,CBS,ABC,NBC,MSNBC,CNBC) are ALL pro-sharia including Fox.
Sweden doesn´t have a “border security problem”, we have a third-world immigration problem. Crime, unemployment, Islam - you know the list.
The US fascination with illegal immigration is merely due to the fact that you are further gone than us, mainly debating the pros and cons of illegal immigration (an absurdity if you stop think about it). If immigration is legal or illegal matters little in the end - what matters is who immigrates, and in what numbers.
“....Oh yes - you watch Fox which is partially owned by the Sau*i kings nephew. They all s*ck....”
7% is no where near controlling interest. Yet, I agree Fox could be more pro-active on some issues. As it stands, Fox is the best we have at present.
They ARE anti-immigration. The USA is one of the few (only?) countries in the world that has a debate on whether to allow **ILLEGAL** immigration (ludicrous, if you ask me).
Sweden, like any other country, has no responsibility to accept immigrants. Its entirely up to the Swedes, and like many other European Countries, they have become weary of murdering, raping Muslim bastards invading their nation.
God bless this guy. I hope he succeeds in kicking all those Muslim bastards out and my every other nation follow them.
I don´t like them. This kind of party is much closer to the British National Party than Wilders. The BNP is socialist on economy. Wilders and dutch right-wing liberals are ideologically closer to libertarians.
Some standing as a bulwark against the invading hordes of islamic fanatics.
Good post. Legality is not really the issue. A little magic dust and they can all be legal. Then what is the issue? Same invaders...
Good. Some of the people in ultra-liberal multicultural Sweden have realized what’s happening to their once-great country and are acting to change it.
People who belong to a group whose sworn goal is the elimination of Western Civilization must be sent back to where they came from, and prevented from coming back in.
Agree Completely. I hope the Swedish Democrats grow and are able to rectify the damage done in Sweden.
It that kind of thoughtfulness that makes conservatism so appealing...
