She resigned the governorship, and I don’t blame her. But if you can’t or won’t be governor, why on earth try to be president?
As I understand it, its more or less a funding problem. In Alaska, she was under attack from both parties and the good old boy network and had no ability to defend herself without creating insurmountable personal debt. The presidency is structured differently, and she has been working at creating a broad base of support, both in the electorate and in the Republican Party. In short, she executed a necessary retreat, reconsolidated her troops, got reinforcements, and will meet the enemy on higher ground. Next time they clash, she will be ready.
