I've heard that in Alaska spelling doesn't matter so long as the intent of the voter is clear. The example given was that "Lisa M." would count for Murkowski.

But since she won't win anyway, the only thing she'll do is reduce Miller's votes whether her voters spell it Mercowski, Murkowski or just Lisa (unless she starts peeling off McAdams' votes like Crist is fighting with the Democrat in Florida now).

That gives me an idea. Maybe we should start referring to constipation — s*it that needs to go, but just refuses to move out — as “Murkowski.”

“Hey, Bob, what’s with the bran muffins? You usually get eggs.”

“Yeah, but I’m, uh, a little Murkowski’d right now.”
