that is the Libtard DUmmy line...provoke a confirmation fight so you can portray Republicans as being in favor of misleading credit card statements at 39.99% interest. CBS is still getting the faxes I see.

And to think that a mere year ago such an act of lese majeste on the part of a reporter would lead to summary dismissal and blacklisting from the profession within hours.

I have not heard any Republicans come out against Warren’s nomination. I have heard Dodd say that she would be a good choice but that there maybe opposition to her nomination. I also read that in the Dodd-Frank bill, the position was not subject to Senate confirmation.

May I throw out another possibility. Was Warren part of the female professors at Harvard who got Larry Summers thrown out of the Harvard president office? and could this be Larry’s doing some payback?

I heard Obama state that Warren’s father was a janitor.

Was he the head of the janitors union (SEIU) or is he the one that wrote the book: “You Don’t Need A Janitor To Know Which Way The Toilet Is Flushing” ?

Warren appeared in the documentary film Maxed Out in 2006

She appears in Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story

has appeared several times on Dr. Phil

From 2005-2008, Warren and her law students wrote a blog called Warren Reports, part of Josh Marshall’s TPMCafe.

Warren is married to Bruce Mann (second husband), a legal historian and law professor also at Harvard Law School

On April 12, 2010, CNN reported that Warren’s was among additional names being considered as Supreme Court nominees to replace retiring Justice John Paul Stevens.

On November 14, 2008, Ms. Warren was appointed by United States Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to chair the five-member Congressional Oversight Panel created to oversee the implementation of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act.

Tim Geithner Opposes Nominating Elizabeth Warren To Lead New Consumer Agency

Warren’s role as a bailout watchdog led to strained relations with the agency her panel has taken to task with brutal reports every month since Obama took office: Geithner’s Treasury Department.

Obama risks deepening the financial community’s distrust of his administration and sparking a confirmation fight. He would be elevating a woman who, despite her mild manner, has repeatedly proven herself a thorn in the administration’s side during her tenure as watchdog over the government’s $700 billion bank bailout program.

‘This grubby job’

The financial overhaul bill signed last month by Obama gives him authority to appoint an independent director of the new consumer bureau to a five-year term, subject to Senate confirmation. That director will have broad authority to shape the new bureau and remarkable autonomy after it is up and running to write and enforce rules governing credit cards, mortgages and other such loans.

She has received fervent backing from consumer advocates, labor unions, academics and scores of Democratic lawmakers.

Her endorsements have ranged from the New York Times to MoveOn.org to Dr. Phil.

“I get disgusted every time I hear her speak. It’s like she’s sitting in some ivory tower, not understanding the ramifications of anything she says,” Anton Schutz, president of Mendon Capital Advisors, recently told Reuters — a sentiment shared by others in the financial industry, though rarely so candidly. “Any person you put in that role really ought to have some industry experience.”

I heard Obama state that Warren’s father was a janitor.

I checked the Web, including Wikipedia, and there is NOTHING about her early life other than the fact that she is from Oklahoma. Even her maiden name is unknown. Warren is the name of her first husband.
