The boss emeritus threw a jolt into the blogosphere by flagging this last night, and with good reason. Is America’s new most famous RINO about to go fully rogue and endorse Coons?
No. Or should I say, not yet?
Castle has spent the past 36 hours fielding phone calls and pats on the back from well-wishing colleagues and other politicians, including President Obama, Vice President Biden, House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) and dozens of others. He said that he was coming to grips with the reasons for his defeat – a conservative rebellion in the southern portion of the state that was given extra ammunition by Sarah Palin’s endorsement of O’Donnell. But he said that there probably wasn’t enough time in the next six weeks for him to get over some of the attacks lobbed in the contest.

Castle had a deal cut with the Democrats, they give him only token opposition with a weak candidate like Coons, and he switches parties once he gets in the Senate.
O’Donnell and those meddlesome Tea Party kids foiled their plan.
But don’t believe for a second that O’Donnell is the weak candidate in the race.
Coons is. He was hand picked for that very quality.

The influential conservative website RedState.com in August cited sources in Ms. O’Donnell’s campaign for a report predicting that Mr. Castle would follow the example of Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter and switch parties after the election.
Honestly I’d be a lot more worried about them using Castle to distract from Coons. If people find out who Coons is, we’ll find out just what unelectable really is.
I was saddened to read that he is a descendant of Ben Franklin.
A caller to Rush today thinks that Castle was to be a placeholder for Beau Biden who would run for the seat in 2 years. Now Obama-Biden would have to elbow Coons out of the way so Beau can get the Biden seat back. Those people are entitled.
I should have faced the voters.

In his concession speech, Castle ironically described his own politically liability when he referred to “...my life in government...” That is exactly what people find wrong with Washington — career politicians.
Castle will be extremely dangerous during the lame duck session. This is very likely where he will take his revenge out on the Pub Party.
