Lil’ Miss Tracy clearly didn’t see the movie, then. No stay-at-home Tolkien heroines there, if memory serves.

Movie changes the role Arwen completely. In the book she stays at Rivendel the whole time.. and only goes to Gondor after the fighting is over. Elf that helps the hobbits on the way to Rivendel is Glorfindel and not Arwen.
Eowyn’s character in the movies is extremely well done, she fits with Tolkien’s view of her really well and the actress playing her did an amazing job.
