U.S. Sen. John Kerry yesterday mocked Republicans as Sarah Palins party even as the New Hampshire Senate candidate she backed claimed victory in Tuesdays primary and a Tea Party favorite emerged as the GOPs best hope to break the Democratic stranglehold on the Bay State delegation.
I think the Tea Party couldnt ask for any better publicity than to be denounced by a millionaire who dodges paying taxes on his yacht, said conservative gadfly Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit.
Kerry seized on a Republican rift following Tea Party victories across the country - among them, Palins chosen radical rightwing candidate GOP U.S. Senate nominee Christine ODonnell, who triumphed in Delaware over establishment Republican Mike Castle.
The news from Delaware is crystal clear: Its Sarah Palins party now, Kerry wrote in a fund-raising e-mail titled Delawow! distributed yesterday. We have to fight back. Click here to contribute right now to make sure we defeat the Tea Party extremists.
But conservative Washington observers said Republicans will get the last laugh come November.
Kerry is the guy whose political instincts are always wrong. This guys presidential campaign was a punch line, Reynolds said. To call the Tea Party extremists is a joke.
GOP analysts reveled in big conservative wins Tuesday, including Kelly Ayotte - graced by Palin with one of her coveted mama grizzly endorsements - who snatched a primary victory over Tea Party favorite Ovide Lamontagne.
Among GOP challengers to the Bay States all-Democrat congressional delegation, Republican state Rep. Jeff Perry - beloved by local Tea Partiers - is given more than a fighting chance of winning the seat being vacated by Democratic U.S. Rep. William Delahunt.
National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Tory Mazzola said the party is poised to come to the aid of Perry with fund-raising help and volunteers.
What you see from Democrats are blatant attempts to distract voters from their partisan, big government agenda in Washington instead of focusing on the issues, Mazzola said.
Delahunt also sought to highlight the GOP infighting yesterday - painting Democrat William Keating as more attractive to the districts conservative base.
To call Jeff Perry a traditional Republican I think is hyperbole. Hes embraced the Tea Party, Delahunt said at a rally yesterday for Keating in Plymouth. What I see right now is the emergence of two Republican parties. I think Bill Keating will have a strong appeal to traditional Republicans.
Conservative blogger William Jacobson of Legal Insurrection said Democrats have sought to demonize Tea Party candidates and their supporters going back to Scott Browns upstart campaign - and its backfired.
They may think its funny and a cute tactic now, but they will regret it ultimately, Jacobson said.
Massachusetts Republican Party chair Jennifer Nassour chimed in: Kerry may laugh now, but the Isabels skipper will be crying when the GOP breaks the Democrats choke hold on Capitol Hill.
Meanwhile, ODonnells win sparked fireworks yesterday between two of the GOPs heaviest hitters: Karl Rove and Rush Limbaugh. Rove, who had opposed ODonnell, lashed out at her and Limbaugh quickly hit back.
Why is he so mad at a Republican? Limbaugh said. Where was this anger directed at a Democrat ever?
maybe he’ll go and cry to his wife and she’ll by him a yacht
Po ole Skipper Kerry, the Hero of Cambodia comes out of his bunker and gets winged multiple times, Instapundit and LI are formidable snipers. J fragg Kerry better watch out he may not be able to avoid mortal injury to his fragile ego this time!
“Sarah Palin`s party”? Sounds like a good plan!
---------------------------
Kerry is an irretrievable disgrace and has been ever since he testified against his fellow soldiers after he finished his faux-service in the Delta. The man is a self-serving phony and worse, a disgrace to the US Senate.
John Kerry
“gigolo millionaire” would be a tad more accurate!
To call the Tea Party extremists is a joke.

True but everything is upside down and bass ackwards now. What used to be everyday common sense accepted anywhere is now considered wild eyed extremism by the media and what used to be sufficient evidence to justify sending someone to an insane asylum is called wisdom.
