House Speaker Nancy Pelosi predicted Tuesday that House Democrats would retain their majority in Congress.
On her way in to meet with Democrats just returning to Capitol Hill after a six-week summer break, Pelosi told reporters she was confident in her party's chances of prevailing in November's congressional elections.
"I am not yielding one grain of sand. I want to have the same big, strong majority that we have," said Pelosi, D-California.

Excellent. Both might lose their Houses thru Democrat policy.
The irony is delicious!
“While she is frogmarched out with her giant gavel.”
In a straight jacket!
Hell no, escort her out in her underpants! We want those records to hang this B!
“In a straight jacket!”
That too. Though I’ve since thought it would be fitting justice to use the giant gavel to ring down a healthcare repeal bill. Maybe we should keep it in the speaker’s closet.
It is good to see the Conservatives rising but we will have to be very careful we don’t spin off into arguing about the issues that divide us. This needs to be an anti-Democrat, anti-RINO movement and let the social issues, religious issues and such sit on the backburner until we rid ourselves of the immediate threat of government takeover in all three branches of government and on all levels.
I agree, but many don't, it could be our unhinging.
I know, and I know exactly who will be trying to foster that discord between now and November, and between November and 2012. Pyrrhic victories may be nice but you are still dead.
It still depends on who is on the Supreme Court so it may not boil up that soon.
Bye, bye.
It does take a long time to undo the damage a Supreme Court can do. Witness the Roe vs. Wade decision. That is why accommodation of the RINOs on Supreme Court nominees is so galling. They maintain they have to be nice folks and let the Dems have their nominees so the shoe will be on the other foot next time around. But then the next time around, the Dems are as intransigent as ever. There comes a point when the RINOs either have to take a serious stand for principles or be swept from office.
