Given there are twice the Dems as Reps in DE and there was no big Dem race on the ballot, isn’t it likely that a sizable number of Dems changed their affiliations in time to vote for O’Donnell since supposedly she’d be easier for Coons to beat? Not to rain on the parade since I’d have voted for her too, but I don’t think the outcome necessary means a majority in DE have “seen the light”. I’m very happy Castle is gone though.

It’s a closed primary.
But there may have been an incidental amount of that.

No. This race became competitive way too late for that type of activity. Besides, the Castle is too close with the Dems in this state for the Dem Party to try that.

From what I heard, it’s not too easy to either register to vote right before the election, or to switch party right before the election.

Tea Partiers probably need to do some quick voter registration.
