“If they want a civil war, they’re gonna get it. As I’ve said to you before BC, I think the establishment may just be willing to accept a fracturing of the party rather than capitulate like they did in 1980. It may be 1964 all over again. Not good.”

But Al, they didn’t capitulate in 1980. Remember Mary Dent Crisp and the walkout in Detroit and John Anderson. They are in a much weaker position now.

And in Sarah Palin, they face a more formidable foe than even Reagan was. I gotta tell you....I am very optimistic about this November. O’Donnell, Miller, Angle, Fiorina, Paul and either Lamontagne or Ayotte all win. And 2012 too. Reagan had no Senate allies except Laxalt, Helms and Gordon Humphrey. Palin will have the six I listed plus Demint and probably Inhofe and Coburn (at least).

The Establishment is gonna make a lot of noise, but just remember, guys like Rove are similar to that Bitney dude in AK...totally inept. SP will be not just three moves ahead of those dim bulbs but more like seven or eight.

Yeah, but the bulk of the establishment fell behind Reagan when Bush joined the ticket. Your point on Anderson and Crisp are well taken, though.

I agree with your optimism for November. This tsunami that's forming looks huge. Love this post on another board:

"Palin destroyed the RINO's in her state over the last few years. She is now franchising this operation on a nationwide basis."

LOLOL.
