The Obama Administration and congressional Democrats have intensified their tactics of trying to Shift attention away from their hugely unpopular legislative blunders. Theyre Ignoring the fact that their economic policies and programs are not working. And theyre Name-calling their critics to try to minimize their anticipated losses in the November elections.
The liberals SIN tactics are not new, as I have written about them in previous commentaries. They have just turned up the volume.
To shift attention away from their not-so-proud legislative feats, the Democrats did not hold many town hall meetings during the congressional August recess. They did not want to get hammered by their constituents like they got hammered during the 2009 August recess. In fact, they did not even want to face their voters because, in 2009, the Democrats were trying to sell the unpopular health care deform legislation, and in 2010 they had voted it into law.
Add that massive legislative mistake to the out-of-control spending and failed economic policies of this administration, and it adds up to having nothing to boast about leading up to the November mid-term elections.
So with the help of an accommodating mainstream media, they shifted the focus to Middle East peace talks (which have been going on since Jimmy Carter was president), the New York Mosque controversy and the question of when President Obama is going to give his next hollow speech on creating jobs.
In a speech last week proposing another $50 billion in spending to stimulate the economy, the president tried to characterize congressional Republicans as the party of no, because they oppose wasting more money on ideas that simply have not worked. The president wants us to just ignore the fact that the $862 billion non-stimulus spending is not working, along with a list of failed pop tart programs such as cash for clunkers.
In an interview last week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) said he had nothing to do with this bad economy or the massive foreclosures in his home state of Nevada. Maybe he forgot that, as Majority Leader, he determines what gets voted on in the Senate, and that he encouraged his fellow Democrats to vote for the non-stimulus bill and the health care deform bill.
On top of failed policies and bad bills, the Democrats cant stop the ever-growing Tea Party movement. I call it the citizens movement because there are many organizations active in this voter pushback against the arrogance and elitist attitude of this administration and Congress.
The liberals attempted name-calling intimidation has not worked in trying to discourage this massive voter outrage. Nancy Pelosi kicked off the name calling assault in 2009 calling us Astroturf, because we did not represent real grassroots people. I dont think Nancy has ever been to a Tea Party rally. We will see if they are Astroturf in November.
When Harry Reid called us un-patriotic, it didnt slow down the movement. Accusations of racism by the NAACP backfired. And even being called crazy by some Democrats did not work to discourage the growth of the movement to take back our government, because we are crazy about the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
And now the so-called Democrat strategists (The Hill News) have devised another name to describe the tea party people in an attempt to use fear to excite their base, and to discourage this unstoppable citizens movement.
Insurgent tea party people! Wow! That leaves me shaking in my boots. I am scared to death of those people. I am one of those people, and I am sick and tired of being called names, over-taxed, over-regulated, and overlooked when it comes to my constitutional liberties.
If that is how they define insurgent, then call me insurgent.
I am really starting to admire this guy.
It’s too late to get back the wasted $800 billion, but REPEAL OBAMACARE!
REPEAL was one of the messages of the rallies this weekend -

Herman has a bunch of good ones -
“Healthcare Deform”
“Sneak-A-Tax”
“Cap-N-Trade-Tax-N-Kill”
I’ll be lookin’ at him from now on.
But this time is different. This time the Democrats are standing NAKED with no Republican cover to hid behind. No Republican foil. No Republican boogieman.
With the active assistance of the corrupt MSM the Democrats
Demonized George W Bush
Demonized Sarah Palin
Demonized Newt Gingrich
Demonized Bob Packwood
Demonized Dan Quayle
Demonized Tom DeLay
Demonized Glen Beck
Demonized Rush Limbaugh
And the list goes on. Today the Democrats stand alone and naked. The corrupt MSM cannot totally cover them as they have effective been able to in the past. This is why you see Democrats desperately trying to set up John Boehner as the new Republican demon — as they did with Newt Gingrich and Tom DeLay.

Mike Steele seemed for real, till he got a chance to actually be for real.
Now why would you compare Herman to Steele of all people?
Herman Cain is a true conservative, great American and speaking out at least since the days of Clinton (at least that’s when I first heard of him). I’ve never in all the years I’ve listened to him on his nightly show, or speeches, say anything that would harm the cause of conservatism. He is a fiscal and social conservative. He has been touring the nation with tea parties and other groups, fighting to Take Back Our Government. Other than that all I can suggest to you is to go to some of the links I’ve provided, listen to his show, listen to his speeches and get to know about him.
Anyway, here’s his bio to get started from the Hermanator PAC web site:
Raised in Georgia, Cain adopted the lessons of his parents dedication to hard work and the importance of faith and carried them with him to the pinnacle of the corporate world. Cain earned a degree in mathematics from Morehouse College in 1967 and later earned a masters degree in computer science from Purdue University, while working as a mathematician for the Department of the Navy. He then worked as a business analyst for The Coca-Cola Company. In 1968, he married his wife, Gloria and they have two grown children.
In 1977, Herman Cain joined The Pillsbury Company and within three years, at the age of 34, rose to the position of Vice President of Corporate Systems and Services. Cain, reflecting his fathers drive to seek greater challenges, then set his sights on a corporate presidency.
With this goal ahead of him and his mothers faith to support him, Cain resigned his senior position and started on another career path the restaurant industry. He started from the ground up by making hamburgers at Pillsburys Burger King division. Nine months later, he was managing 400 Burger King units in the Philadelphia region, the countrys poorest performer. Within three years, his region had earned the reputation for excellence and was the companys best.
In 1986, Pillsbury appointed Cain to the presidency of the then financially troubled Godfathers Pizza, Inc. chain headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. In 14 short months, under Cains leadership, the chain regained profitability. In 1988, he led his executive team in a buyout of the company from Pillsbury.
Cain was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Restaurant Association in 1988. In 1994 to 1995, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors. While leading this association, he developed the organization into a pro-business voice via national debates and speeches concerning health care reform, employment policies, and taxation. Following this experience, he was appointed to serve on the Economic Growth and Tax Reform Commission in addition to serving as Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He then became a senior advisor to the 1996 Dole/Kemp campaign for the Presidency.
Herman Cain continued the responsibilities of President and Chairman of Godfathers Pizza, Incorporated, while beginning a second career delivering national keynote speeches. Using his messages as the foundation, he created his own leadership consulting company, The THE New Voice, Inc. THE New Voice packages his speaking and develops his products, including books, DVDs, CDs of gospel music, and promotes his keynote speeches. He has authored four books to date on topics ranging from leadership to self-empowerment including Leadership is Common Sense and CEO of Self.
In 1996, Cain became CEO and President of the National Restaurant Association. He had been a member of the NRA Board since 1988, and had served as its elected volunteer chairman in 1994/1995. Cain thus became the only volunteer chairman to become the full-time CEO and President of the Association while still a member of the Board. Cain headed the NRA in this position for two and a half years.
In 1999, Cain sought to leverage his restaurant experience with the technology market and he became CEO and President of RetailDNA. Its mission is to provide innovative marketing solutions to the retail sector.
Today, Herman is a radio talk show host on The Herman Cain Show out of Atlantas WSB 750am and is a FOX News Business Commentator. Cain remains President and CEO of THE New Voice, Inc. and serves on the Boards of Directors for AGCO Corporation, Hallmark Cards Incorporated and Whirlpool Corporation. In 2004, he ran as a candidate for the United States Senate from Georgia.

You asked "why would I compare Herman to Steele of all people?" I'd like to answer that.
I came to the realization a long time ago (probably during the Clinton years) that the race dynamic in our country was putting our black citizens back into slavery, just as was predicted by freedom-oriented black orators and thinkers of the reconstruction and Jim Crow period. I also realized that the only hope, over the long term, for our society to "solve" the problem of racial division (if it can ever really be solved, given human nature) would be to for our black citizens to be lead toward the light of independence and self-reliance. To accomplish this will require a return to the ideals of strong, two-parent families, an unshakable faith in education for children, and the abandonment of the victim mentality that serves the goals of cynical mis-leaders but keeps millions of African Americans in conditions of horrible poverty, both economic and spiritual.
I believe that the leaders for this return must probably come from within the black community, so poisonous has the racial atmosphere become over the last 40 years or so.
When I first heard of Michael Steele, I was inspired by him. I heard him speak on the internet and I was moved by his eloquence and the solidity of his convictions. He had made a good start in politics in Maryland, but had been defeated for the U.S. Senate after an unusually dirty campaign. Well, maybe not "unusually dirty" by Maryland standards.
I was heartened when Mr. Steele was named to head the Republican National Committee. My glad feelings quickly turned sour as we got a good look at his leadership strategy and pronouncements.
Look, taking a powerful position within any national organization, at the party level or within the government, is a challenge of the most extreme type. Not everyone can do it, and many people who are great as individuals, or as orators and public speakers, fall short when they actually get "behind the eight ball." My personal belief is that Mr. Steele falls into this catagory. I see him as someone akin to John McCain. Just looking his background and history one would think he'd be a splendid Conservative leader for America, a great asset to the Conservative cause. As we all know, the reality falls disapppointingly short of this.
The reason "I would compare Herman Cain to Michael Steele" is that Mr. Cain represents another leader who could actually do some good in the struggle to bring all Americans forward to the American ideal, which must be accomplished if our nation is to survive. The new challenges we face from global religious terrorism makes the pursuit of this goal all the more urgent.
Having read Mr. Cain's bio and accomplishments gives me hope, as, I'm sure, it does to many.
I appreciate your well thought out and honest answer.
Steele reminds me of a career politician - he sticks his finger in the wind and that’s the direction he goes. He talks a good talk when it suits him, but he’s not there substantially. Herman is a businessman. His background shows he has actually been behind the 8 ball. He’s turned around a titanic or two.
So when he speaks it’s because he experienced these things first hand. I believe it is from the heart because he lets you see his heart. He does not give pat answers, he gives his answers. He is a conservative at heart, not just in words. Plus he’s been fighting conservative causes for years, even when his view was against the “establishment” view (like TARP).
Of all the political figures today, Herman would actually remind me more of Palin than Steele - only more seasoned. He has already put out there his ideas for what he would do if he were elected. Very specific, very sound ideas.
But anyway, I cannot convince folks other than to encourage them to listen for themselves. My prayer is that Herman will not be written off before he is even a chance - he certainly has earned a shot at this. He has done as much if not more for conservatism than any of the “top 17” on the list today, with the exception of Palin, he just hasn’t had the nationwide stage and big RINO money others have had.
I will add this - some he has said in interviews, others I’ve gleaned from his talk show - Herman isn’t just all about fiscal policy. He has said his top priority is national security. He is very tough on terrorism, and for securing the borders and for dealing strongly with illegal immigration. He is for a government freeze of new spending (at 0%). He is for energy independence - lessening regulations so that we can explore all of our resources. He is for getting federal government out of education. He believes strongly in state’s rights. He is very constitutionally-minded. He hates socialism and says all the time we are not the United States of Europe.
He loves America and would never go around kissing anyone’s a*** or bowing or apologizing. He believes this is the greatest country on earth.
Personally, he has a strong faith in God, strong family values, pro-life. Married to the same woman 40 years, is close to his children and grand children. There has never been any scandal about him that I know of.
From all that I’ve read and all of the times I’ve listened to Herman Cain, your words are so true. What you see is what you get and that’s important...especially in today’s climate of cronyism, bribery, corruption, lies, and nepotism in both the Republican and Democrat Parties. He would make an excellent president and I truly believe he could turn this country around and get it going towards the right direction. I hope he throws his hat in the ring. Herman is the real deal and I would definitely vote for him.
Hmmm....I guess that makes me a “racist, bigoted insurgent.”
