Business Insider: Is The Future Of Politics A Tea-Partier Who Was Nearly Foreclosed On Her Home?
Business Insider ^ | 09/14/2010 | Joe Weisenthal

Tomorrow is GOP primary day in Delaware where longtime Congressman Mike Castle is vying for his party's nomination against upstart candiate Christine O'Donnell, a tea partier with the support of Sarah Palin.

According to WaPo, the state party is freaking out about fringey O'Donnell, who has run for Senate multiple times in the past and failed. But this time she's running a shockingly good campaign on a shoestring budget. Obviously the Palin endorsement helps.

But maybe a lot of voters can relate to her

" The reason, state GOP officials argue, is that O'Donnell is simply unqualified to hold office. A two-time losing candidate against then-Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. - whose old seat she and Castle are seeking - O'Donnell has a history of financial difficulties documented in the Wilmington News Journal that includes an IRS lien, a near-foreclosure on her mortgage and a dispute with her alma mater for not paying college expenses. She has a tiny campaign operation and, for most of the year, she received virtually no grass-roots financial support within Delaware.

We are running out of time. We either get rid of the DEMS and the RINOs or it is all over. We sink or swim in this election.

"I know Castle is a RINO, but he’s a Republican who can beat the Democrat. This Gal may have got some people excited, but she is a flake and would certainly lose to the Dem."

O'Donnell is less than inspiring. She does seem a bit unqualified and more than a little flaky. And, unlike some othe5rs here, I am concerned with her past financial troubles, precisely because they are so recent. Having said that, if I was a DE resident, I'd still vote for her over Castle.

Nope, I don't think O'Donnel can win the general. BUT, I think Castle would possibly be worse than a Dem in that seat, and I RARELY say that about RINOs. First, he'd give "bi-partisan" cover to every hair-brained scheme the Democrats want to pass. And second, in a Senate - perhaps in 2012 - that was split 51-49 in favor of the GOP, Castle could EASILY be the guy who switched parties.

I think in rare circumstances, the enemy you do know, is better than the traitor you might know.

Sometimes in politics, you have to be pragmatic and figure out who the is the lesser of the evils. Castle may be problematic, but you know how a Dem. from Delaware will vote (Same as all the previous ones). If I had a dollar for eeverytime I held my nose and voted for the lesser of the evils, I might be in a different tax bracket. I think I did that when I voted for Mc Cain. O’Donnel is a “flake” and the Dems. will crucify her in the General and that’s why it is better to have Castle.

Great bit of insight. Congrats on pointing it out.

Find a way to get that message to her.

Unfit for the job? Why, if that were the criterion, we’d have a different president.

When I see Joe Biden, I have always thought he physically looked ‘off’.

I just thought that look was the reult of a botched hair transplant experience.

Yeah...bringing up ‘qualifications’ is a joke. Just what are the ‘qualifications’?

The administration has several folks with IRS problems. There is at least several with ethical charges in the congress. More than one has offered fraudulent military service records.

Just what are the QUALIFICATIONS? One of our local justice of the peace officers is a real time beautician....and she does a pretty good job in both areas of her employment! LOL!

Hey fGOP (f used to stand for former, now it stands for something else), a lot of us non-rulers have suffered similary. I was doing OK until you jerks screwed the pooch and allowed the demscum to take over in 2006. Their policies literally ruined my clients' livlihoods and thus mine. Clearly this is something you fGOPers don't get.

in short, screw you!

Maybe they took the hair from his ass?

I knew of a guy that had hair transplanted from his head to his airpits. Whatever...

Probably right. But only because the Republican Party will refuse to support her, and maybe work for the election of the Democrat. She is invading THEIR turf, and that is all they worry about.

So it’s the Delaware GOP’s position that only multimillionaires who have never struggled to make a mortgage payment or pay off college debts are qualified to be in the US Senate? Actually, I’ve known enough establishment GOP’ers in my life to strongly suspect exactly that, which is why the GOP will never, ever receive another nickel from me, until I see convincing proof that they have become other that the party of the Silver Spoon. I donate to candidates, not the Stupid Party. Christine got a small donation. (In Bam’s economy, I can’t afford more.)

[I frankly don’t care if O’Donnell has 10 bankruptcies and is a Wiccan who cooks up little kitties in a big cauldron in her basement.]

LOL

As long as they’re not little Viking Kitties. ;-/

Mike Castle supports voted for Cap and Tax, ObamaCare (he did not vote for but is against repeal), Law of the Sea, International Criminal Court, Abortion, Gun Control, and every 0other part of the Obama/Globosocialist agenda. Christine O’Donell will vote against EVERY SINGLE ONE of those things. Period. and that is why she should have the vote fo every Republican in Delaware.

Yep, he is a Cap & Tax TRAITOR! My dog would be better holding the office, she would do less damage, and is probably smarter.
