The pilot script for NBCs The Event (premieres next Monday, Sept. 20th) is nothing more than leftist wish fulfillment, a smarmy progressive wet dream that somehow was approved by teams of executives, marketing research firms, focus groups, and Fortune 500 companies looking to advertise their services. Its a Big Dumb Action Movie wannabe (no doubt theyre gonna make it hip and edgy with shaky-cam non-cinematography) propelled by a hyper-partisan political premise so preposterous, paranoid, and childish, it will make your head explode. Who, besides surgeons who fix botched lobotomies, would advertise for that?

THAILAND!
DB Sweeney, a noted conservative, is in the cast.
I still won’t watch it - I’ve got a Chargers beat-down of the Chefs to watch tonight.
He has gone to in Iraq in the recent past to visit with members of the U.S. Armed Forces, but that does not make him a political conservative.
Remember that Al Franken also visited the Troops before entering politics.
DB Sweeney was also a bad guy in the cancelled series, Jericho.
DB Sweeney was the guy abducted by aliens in Fire in the Sky.
DB gets around a bit.
"Yeah, Moe, that team sure did suck last night. They just plain sucked! I've seen teams suck before, but they were the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked."
Stephen Kings "The Langoliers" was a thousand times better.

I guess I’m sorry about that. Coulda been a contendah, couldn’t it? Instead of a bum, which is what it is, face it Chahlie.. :)
The only thing I find fraudulent about ‘Lost’ was trying to wrap up the whole going to heaven meme in one episode. They had to zoom right through that important scene with Christian at the coffin (which should have been prepared for much more elegantly).
Other than that, Lost was crackerjack for me. Tastes differ, I guess.
