Citing "Mental Anguish," Christine O'Donnell Sought $6.9 Million in Gender Discrimination Lawsuit
Weekly Standard ^ | 9/12/10 | John McCormack

Posted on 09/12/2010 10:11:56 AM PDT by truthandlife

Court documents obtained Saturday by THE WEEKLY STANDARD reveal surprising new details about the gender discrimination and wrongful termination lawsuit filed by Christine O'Donnell in 2005 against her former employer, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, a conservative non-profit based in Delaware.* O'Donnell, who is now challenging moderate congressman Mike Castle in the September 14 Delaware GOP Senate primary, sought $6.95 million in damages. In a court complaint, she extensively detailed the "mental anguish" she suffered after allegedly being demoted and fired because of her gender. And, although she didn't have a bachelor's degree until this year, O'Donnell implied she was taking Master's degree classes at Princeton University in 2003.

O'Donnell alleged in a July 1, 2005 complaint filed in district court that she had been demoted because ISI's conservative philosophy dictated that women must be subordinate to men. She claimed she was fired when she contacted the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regarding her demotion. ISI told the Delaware News Journal that she had been "terminated for operating a for-profit business."

O'Donnell's finances, honesty, and stability have been called into question in light of her false and strange claims. The court complaint raises further questions on all fronts. O'Donnell, who made an annual salary of $65,000 at ISI as director of communications and public affairs, sought up to $6,952,477 million in damages, claiming, among other allegations, that ISI had defamed her and had violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. O'Donnell sought:

--Up to $3,952,447 in "Direct Damages, including back pay" and "lifetime lost income and liftetime damage to reputation."

Well I didn’t say that but hey, you get a point.

Have a good day and Mike Castle thanks you.

Gotcha,thanks.

It's amazing all the bad stuff that Castle has done and we are forced to defend Christine for a dropped law suit, kind of crazy.

In that case, let’s just vote in the guy who supports Cap and Trade, and smear the only candidate who will oppose it with falsehoods and exaggerations.

You must be a genius.

Why do you hate Christine O’Donnell for her alleged jay-walking, but love Mike Castle for his murder and rape?

Fallacy. (Care to guess which one?)

This is an example of why I do not like O'Donnell:

http://www.wgmd.com/?p=9496

She lied, got caught in the lie. Then LIED AGAIN. She continues to dig herself into a deeper hole as the interview goes on. It's rather sad and pathetic. If she's willing to lie about something so mundane, why wouldn't she lie to you, to get your votes? She's already shown that she doesn't appear to have principals, as her actions (suing a Conservative group on femi-nazi grounds) speak much louder than her rhetoric.

NO
MORE
RINOS

Stop Cap & Trade
Stop Castle

There are Republicans running for Senate all over the place - NY, NY, NH, Hawaii, Maryland.

Is it that important to you that a Conservative gets smeared with dirt, so that the worst RINO can win?

Find a Republican who you can say something nice about, and say it.

I think that Christine will be a great US Senator.

If you can’t say that about Mike Castle, go find a Candidate you can say that about.

Do you think that Castle will be a great US Senator?

yeah, o.k., and, I’ll still send her donations so help her win! (wait a minute...... is it not o.k. for a white woman to sue for discrimination???)

I’m not supporting either. I just can’t believe that being a liar is now a good thing. But, if you all want that for your state, go ahead. This is the world of dishonesty we live in now.

How can you compare any of that, even is some of it is true, to support of cap and trade?. Do you even know what cap and trade is and what it will do to the country.

I believe that Coons will vote for Cap and Trade as well.

So the story is “old.”. Is it true? That seems to me to be more pertinent.

O’Donnell is opposed to cap and trade. Castle is for it.

Odd how you don’t spend any time putting Castle under the microscope.

Maybe you don’t care at all about lying. Maybe you just want Castle to stay in office.

Wow. This really convinces me to support Obama’s Cap ‘n Trade supporting Mike Castle. Oh, wait, reverse that.

I can say Christine will be a great US Senator.
You can say Christine will be a great US Senator.

The people attacking Christine will not say that Castle will be a great US Senator.

They’re wasting their time. They should find someone who they think will be a great US Senator, and tell people why they think they will be a great US Senator. They’re just tearing down a conservative in order to help a candidate who might be the WORST Republican out there.

I think Christine would be great. Would Castle be great?

The argument that a tea party candidate “can’t win in the general election”

There are strong candidates for election and weak candidates.

There are strong tea party candidates for election and weak tea party candidates.

The average attendee at a tea party rally would be a stronger election candidate than Christine O'Donnell. She's got some issues, and she doesn't have a lot of what I look for in a candidate, for example business and/or military experience. Yes, she'd be better than Mike Castle, but that's not a particularly high bar to reach.

It's ridiculous and unfair to attack the Weekly Standard and other conservatives for pointing out the unvarnished truth about a weak candidate.

Would Coons support cap and trade? I never said one thing justifying Castle’s vote for cap and trade. In fact, I condemned him for it. It was a horrible move. However, Castle did vote against ObamaCare, and he will vote for McConnell as majority leader. If we have the Senate Majority, Castle won’t get the option to vote for cap and trade again, because we set the calender. Do you think Senator Coons would vote against Obamacare?

So Castle is you man. That’s your right.

But it doesn’t change the fact that he opposes the U.S. Constitution.

>>>complaint filed in district court that she had been demoted because ISI’s conservative philosophy dictated that women must be subordinate to men.”<<<

“Tell your wife that she is supposed to be subordinate to men.”

Except that ISI does NOT hold that view, ISI is a great organization, and she was HIRED for public relations in the first place. Why would they hire her for a role if they held that view? So the facts contradict the claim, and she made bogus claims in the lawsuit and later dropped the lawsuit.

The claim makes no sense

What makes you think that O’Donnell would oppose cap and trade? Because she told you that she would? Since she has been shown to be a liar, why should I believe her? What makes you think she wouldn’t turn hard left if she got into office? Give me a reason to believe her? If her actions don’t support her rhetoric, why should I give her the chance?
