Citing "Mental Anguish," Christine O'Donnell Sought $6.9 Million in Gender Discrimination Lawsuit
Weekly Standard ^ | 9/12/10 | John McCormack

Posted on 09/12/2010 10:11:56 AM PDT by truthandlife

Court documents obtained Saturday by THE WEEKLY STANDARD reveal surprising new details about the gender discrimination and wrongful termination lawsuit filed by Christine O'Donnell in 2005 against her former employer, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, a conservative non-profit based in Delaware.* O'Donnell, who is now challenging moderate congressman Mike Castle in the September 14 Delaware GOP Senate primary, sought $6.95 million in damages. In a court complaint, she extensively detailed the "mental anguish" she suffered after allegedly being demoted and fired because of her gender. And, although she didn't have a bachelor's degree until this year, O'Donnell implied she was taking Master's degree classes at Princeton University in 2003.

O'Donnell alleged in a July 1, 2005 complaint filed in district court that she had been demoted because ISI's conservative philosophy dictated that women must be subordinate to men. She claimed she was fired when she contacted the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regarding her demotion. ISI told the Delaware News Journal that she had been "terminated for operating a for-profit business."

O'Donnell's finances, honesty, and stability have been called into question in light of her false and strange claims. The court complaint raises further questions on all fronts. O'Donnell, who made an annual salary of $65,000 at ISI as director of communications and public affairs, sought up to $6,952,477 million in damages, claiming, among other allegations, that ISI had defamed her and had violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. O'Donnell sought:

--Up to $3,952,447 in "Direct Damages, including back pay" and "lifetime lost income and liftetime damage to reputation."

What are you talking about? you’re not even making any sense.

Maybe it’s time for you to be interviewed by Dan Gaffney?

O'Donnell's problem is that she is just a regular person, with zits and skeletons in the closet, just like me, just like you.

Rush talked about this last week. Conservatives, Not RINOs, Will Reverse This Dangerous Course

................"How many of you could survive a media anal exam? None of us could! None of us conservatives could. So why do we have and attach this standard to people who have decided they want to get involved. Whatever they say about Palin, imagine if it was you they're talking about? If you had decided to seek office, or whatever they say about -- I don't know, pick somebody. Sharron Angle. Whatever they're saying about Sharron, imagine if it was you that they were saying that about. It's exactly what they would think of you, you're not a professional politician, you're not from inside the Beltway, you're not somebody that can grant anybody access. Imagine if it was you instead of Sharron Angle or you instead of Christine O'Donnell, you instead of Sarah Palin, imagine what they'd say about you and your family. Conservative families are fair game, unlike everybody else. They can not only destroy you but your family. And yet we've got people on our side willing to risk this because they think it's important enough to try to save the country. So you have people on the left that are naturally gonna take their shots at these people because they're afraid of them, afraid of them winning. And we got some people on our side, the professional Republican politicians in the Beltway, some of them are also afraid of these outsider upstarts winning. So they gotta join in and tar and feather 'em as somehow oddball, freak kooks of nature.

In fact, as you're talking about qualifications for serving in elective office, if you've been in debt and if you've had the IRS chasing you, fairly or unfairly, maybe you have more of an ability to relate to more people than you don't. If you have failed to pay the electric bill now and then or if you've failed to pay some taxes on some maid or nanny that you have, imagine anything that you've done in your life being brought up as a disqualification, and yet most of what you've done is shared by the vast majority of other Americans which enables you to relate to them, and yet all that is said to be disqualifying. ".............

None of the O’Donnell supporters on this thread seem to be defending her actions in filing this absurd lawsuit.

None of the Castle boot-lickers on this thread seem to remember that she ran in 2008 and apparently the GOP didn't have a problem with her, or else they would have vetted her and this would have came out.

Sure sounds like the sexist thinking of Romney and his ilk.
And explains his cohort of RomneyBOTs on this thread attacking her and Gov Palin.

The more I listen to O’Donnell from years ago, the more I see she’s for real.

The Ruling Class hates her because she will fight for liberty.

Why don’t you just work to get the Dem elected and then you don’t have to worry about it?

There are parties that close off their nominations when they don’t think anybody can win. In Virginia, the Democrats ran no candidate, and in fact allowed no candidate to run, on the Democrat ticket against John Warner in 2002.

Other states, when there are no well-financed candidates available, pretty much open their party to anybody who is willing to take the time and effort.

To her credit, O’Donnell was willing to do that — when apparently no better candidate had any interest in trying. On the other hand, comparing what she told the electorate in 2008 to what she is now saying, part of her allure then may have been false.

BTW, a lot of times we fall into the shorthand of saying the “GOP” nominated her. In most cases, there was a primary, and the primary voters on the republican side are the ones that chose her.

Dumber than a box of rocks.

Still smarter than the pro-cap and tax, pro-abortion, pro-Obamacare 71-year old Castle.

Don’t believe the liars on this thread who state that none of this was known back in 2008.

Christine O’Donnell ran against Tom Carper back in 2005 for God’s sake. She ran as an Independent, as a write in.

Then in 2008 she was nominated by the same Delaware GOP now villifying her, to run against Joe Biden.

All of this stuff was known and frankly it’s pretty much all they’ve got.

Some money problems, now all paid. This lawsuit she filed but dropped but look at how the hyenas hoot and holler like this is a big deal.

It’s all been known for years.

They’re hoping to manipulate emotions and it seems to work for some of the lower IQ who don’t stop and think...hey, why didn’t they vet Christine in 2008 if she’s so bad.

Who don’t think it odd that she was good enough to endorse when she ran against Biden who she couldn’t beat but is a woman who probably murdered her mother now that she might beat their hero, Mike Castle.

Mike Castle’s votes in the House are more damning than anything they’ve ALREADY FOUND on Christine O’Donnell.

And they justify the Delaware GOP’s nomination of this mother-murderer in 2008 because they knew she couldn’t win but now that she might win...

You think they’d let Obama get away with that?

Once in a while, the smears are actually the truth. And when they are supported by the candidate’s own words and actions, it is really hard to say we should ignore them because we don’t like the people making the charges.

You’re arguing by default that you love the ruling class.

If I’m wrong, tell me how you can speak against O’Donnell, in this race, during this time in our nation.

As it stands, I see your comments as a supportive of the Ruling Class.

I know Dan Gaffney very well.

I know Christine didn’t so well in her interview.

So?

My bullshit was your rather naive and ridiculous assertion that none of this was known back when she ran in 2008.

THAT is bullshit.

Really?

Won't do any good dude. Let's face it, there are a lot of FReepers on here who are just like the Obamabots - don't confuse them with the facts, slavishly support whoever their leader tells them to support no matter how bad, disagreement with them means you're morally or intellectually corrupted, etc. etc.

It's sad, really. FR used to be a place where reasonable people could meet reasonably.

Mike Castle ought to call on these insiders to stop the sniping.

All this will do is cause Delaware voters to vote down-ticket or 3rd party. If Castle thinks he's going to get conservatives to vote for him after this garbage, he's smoking crack.

You disappoint me.

I’m through arguing with you.

Christine O’Donnell is just a normal woman, she has flaws, she’s made mistakes.

I’m thinking maybe Castle has too.

But I don’t care. thank God that one so ruled by emotions isn’t voting in Delaware for this election.

Moving on.
