Funny thing is that until a few days ago, I was on the fence, wishy-washy about this Koran burning thing because really, burning Korans for the sole purpose of causing offense is so rude and improper, so "uncivil," so "insensitive," as many were saying, and correctly ... except for the "uncivil" part. I have come to realize since that indeed, the mere burning of paper, the symbolic torching of the creed of a religion that has declared US to be its enemy (not the other way around) is the very definition of civility. Now, sawing people's heads off while they breathe, burning people alive, etc. -- THAT is "uncivil."
In any case, I was inclined to go with Palin and Levin, to take the high road, to condemn Koran burning as just plain wrong and unChristian ... until I read Grumplestiltskin's post #159 on a thread titled "Mitt Romney: 'Burning the Koran is Wrong'" ...
