South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint is on former House majority leader Dick Armey’s list of Republicans he could support for president in 2012.
Asked during a panel discussion Friday night on the Tea Party movement to name several leaders he would like to see challenge President Obama, he also listed Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty.
“There’s no shortage of good people,” said Armey, the chairman of FreedomWorks, a free-market group helping to organize this weekend’s Tea Party 9/12 Taxpayer March on Washington.
Armey also suggested that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is not his ideal candidate in 2012. “There’s nobody from Alaska on my list,” he said.
He did, however, go on to say that he’d prefer Palin as president to the White House’s current occupant.
His comments came during a discussion titled “Examining the Tea Party” at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. with The Daily Caller’s Tucker Carlson, the New York Times’ Kate Zernike and Harvard professor Jill Lepore.

In case you haven’t noticed, Sarah Palin ain’t Shannon O’Brien. If you haven’t noticed (or are too megalomaniacal to accept this fact), you can get a CRASH course starting in early 2012.
Now, how much tuition do you wish to pay for this little woodshedding..err...tutorial? 50 million? 100 million?
You could save yourself a lot of embarrassment if you just go ahead and write the check to SarahPac.

No need to call Armey names. There is nothing wrong with his views either. But Armey apparently spent too much time in DC and does not understand/remember that the American electorate does not elect Senators President.
They only did last time because both parties nominated senators. And even in that case the US electorate went for the least senatorial, ie the senator who had been in the senator the shortest.
So no it won’t be Demint in 2012. It will be a governor unless the GOP just likes having Obama as President. Armey probably does not know Palin and his view of her is probably based on what he has seen in the media.

Listing Mitch Daniels, Chris Christie Tim Pawlenty in ones top four, is hardly a sign of conservatism.

Its not that I dislike DeMint, but he’s a puff at best in comparison to Palin’s understanding and determination.
Palin will ‘git’er done’ while DeMint and all the rest will dither about whether they are hurting the Dem’s feelings.

DeMint is just a name he picked out of the air.
Just like the Dem/socialists, he fears Palin’s obvious facility at getting the rot out. When you’re part of the rot, the last thing you want to see coming is a drum of Get-Rot.

DeMint is not presently executive material. I would view him as an excellant choice to be Palin’s veep, and later taking over after her 2nd term.

It's worn-out because we've been hearing the same thing, over and over again, for about as long as I remember. This is just latest iteration of the same old thing. It's all we'll ever get if we keep listening to the "old guard" GOP like Armey.

Not that I am aware of.
If she can marginalize Armey, the rest will topple in order.
I highly doubt DeMint will run. He will most likely support Mitt Romney as he did in 2008.
Which route do I recommend? Well...., this is not 1964 nor 1980. I’m not sure if anyone can bring the “big tent” together. Personally, I’m leaning more libertarian everyday because of the neo-cons perpetual war and the “religious right” always in your face preaching their moral authority. If there is a 2012 Ronald Reagan out there, please let me know.
