I have always been against the burning of books when the aim was to limit thoughts and ideas and the suppressing of information . The idea of burning the Koran has nothing to do with this at all. I suppose it is a sign of defiance and rejection of the book and it's adherents. No problem with that really.

I am not concerned about the reaction of Muslims either - they can go and suck eggs. What I am concerned about is the polarizing effect of such an action and the fact that conservatives and churches will then be singled out by the media as hateful and that this will have an effect on voting come election time.

What may seem like a good forceful demonstration of a point initially may end up being a monumental mistake. It makes me wonder whether this Pastor is working for the other side as they will make a meal out of this. It reinforces stereotypes that conservatives have been working hard to overcome.

I hope I am wrong - I often am but I think it is something to consider.
