So the folks who have been referring to God as ‘Allah’ since the time of Christ are wrong, because the English word ‘God’, derived from German ‘Gott’ is the only way to refer to Him?

Not everything that we have a right to do is the right thing to do.

This is one of those examples.

It is because of my conservative, and my Christian, Scripture-based principles, that I oppose the burning of any book, and especially for the probability that this irresponsible act will put our troops at greater risk.

It is a BAD idea, which I completely oppose.

Yikes, ansel. You are clueless here.

You entirely missed the point of why I was asking that very valid question.

But I know now that it was your purpose to misunderstand and misrepresent my words.

End of conversation. You deserve it.

You have the right to your opinion.

If I recall the Lord brought all the idols down in the OT ... I think we’re just fine

And I'm not arguing against their Constitutional right to do something stupid and reckless like this. They clearly have it, and obviously it should not be taken away.

I am saying that it is unwise and irresponsible to do this, that I don't agree with what they are doing in any respect, and that they are not the kind of people we, as conservatives, should be cheering on.

The guys who demand “death to the United States” have, if we wish, signed their own death warrants.

As for me and my house, we will follow Pope Benedict XVI.

Was that sarcasm? I surely hope so

That is two posts claiming that I misunderstood something, but in neither post did you offer any clarification.

That is because there is none.

Are you a soldier in the field of battle? Have you served in Iraq or Afghanistan?
Just curious as to where your ‘bravery’ comes from.

I have no problem whatsoever with whatever the Vatican wants to call me. If necessary I’m happy to reciprocate.

The Moslems in Indonesia were still head hunters 110 years ago.

They haven't changed.

Read all my posts to you. I clarified. You missed it (deliberately, I'm sure).

I never said what you are implying I said, and you know it.

Actually, my discussion with any number of people on this subject proves that your accusations are without any merit.

You're flailing here, ansel. Give it up.

You assume entirely too much. Most of the Moslems in the world are abjectly poor. They don't have TVs, radios, nor access to books, magazines or tabloids that they know how to read.

The level of illiteracy is phenomenonally high.

The vast majority have no idea what the United States nor what we can do if need be.

AlQaida, et al, have no trouble recruiting troops because, as it turns out, there are few real employment opportunities in most of those societies.

And AlQaida uses opportunities like this to recruit even more. Most may not have TV in their homes but those that have heard of this pastor will incite others to violently protest. That will needlessly risk the lives of our troops and civilians in Muslim countries.

I'm being clear, you are avoiding your post calling for people to butt out that haven't served in Iraq or Afghanistan.

This was the post that triggered your attack on that poster's right to post his opinion when you thought that he wasn't a veteran, as a vet I agree with him, (he is a veteran as well). As a non vet are you sure you want to be lecturing people about not being veterans?

“There will be backlash not only for our military but for Americans and especially Christians worldwide.”

"Probably, but I am all for goading them at this point. Part of their strategy is to act violent if they don’t get their way. Well, let them act violent, so we can kill them.

Maybe they are going to suffer regardless of what this person does to the quran.

Maybe we should defeat the enemy of western civilization, stuff its book of satan up its arse, send them all back to hell, and perhaps then Americans and Christians will be safe along with the rest of the world.

Those people in India had their genitals mutilated before they were killed, and no qurans had been burned in florida at that time, so I am really not for walking on eggshells around these demons, I am for utterly crushing them in to dust.

Some people do.

Some people take Obama seriously. What's your point?

I never said that, nor implied that.

This is entirely made up in your mind.

Look ansel....I know you don't like me, but stop this silliness.

I asked that question for a very specific reason. I am NOT a veteran, so I couldn't possibly be saying no one but veterans have the right to voice their opinions.

You are completely wrong. 100% all wet.

Give it up.
