"Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together and burned them before all men and they counted the price of them and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed." Acts 19:19-20
The scripture you quoted does not support this protest. The people of Acts burned their own books that they had used in curious arts BEFORE they came to the truth. It was a testimony that they had changed.
We have had these kind of burnings before in youth ministry. A teenager will bring the things that he believes are no longer pleasing to Christ. I have seen teenagers burn drugs, CD’s, books. These things belonged to them and they associated them with their old life before Christ and they wanted to be rid of them.
This is NOT the intent of this church that is going to burn the Koran.
