Mikulski foe compares her to dinosaur in new ad (MD Senate race)
The Washington Post ^ | September 2, 2010 | Ben Pershing

This year's Senate race in Maryland may not be competitive, but at least it should be colorful.

Eric Wargotz -- the Queen Anne's County Commissioner who is one of 11 Republicans angling for the right to face Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D) in November -- is on the air with his first campaign ad, and it's not subtle.

"This is a political insidersaurus, Barbara Mikulski," says the ad's narrator, whose accent sounds vaguely Australian. "Inhabiting Washington for many years. Famous for spending, raising taxes, and roaming Washington with other political insidersauruses like Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi."

The ad superimposes Mikulski's head and those of Reid and Pelosi on the bodies of crudely animated dinosaurs. Then comes Wargotz, a physician, in hospital scubs, to save the day. He roams the grounds of the U.S. Capitol with binoculars, looking like the host of a nature show (or Dana Milbank) as he seeks the elusive "insidersaurus."

A very amusing ad taking off on Barbara Mikulski’s seemingly endless tenure in D.C.

Maryland must be a lost state if this race is not competitive. She is one of the worst rat senators rivaling Boxer, Murray, Schumer, Dodd, and others.

I would love to see Mikulski go. She is the one who laid the groundwork into Obamacare for mandating that all insurers cover abortion.

This year's Senate race in Maryland may not be competitive

Maybe that could change...some other races weren't supposed to be competitive either (CA, WA, WI, WV).

Exactly once their is a single GOP candidate, then this race might tighten, particularly if a clever gutsy candidate with a good story like this guy wins the GOP nomination. That is a great ad and perfect for the spirit of this election year.

Just her shrill voice should get her defeated.
Does she need a booster seat to be seen in the Senate?

The governor’s race is tied, so Maryland isn’t completely hopeless. Given Republicans will be much more motivated to turn out I’m pretty hopeful that Erlich will win.

If this guy wins it will be a RINO in MD, he is a past contributor to the Dems - especially Kathleen Kennedy Townsend.

To have a true republican in this race is going to take Jim Rutledge to make the difference.

Has anybody taken a look at Brian Murphy for Govenor - he stands aligned with conservatives and is pro-business to create jobs in this near bankrupt state.
