It's almost like the Republican Party is the controlled opposition intended to make conservatives think they have a voice in the way the country is run.

RobbyS, you need to write a book about those days. Most people can't even imagine what you are talking about.

We lost the culture war long ago. I cannot see when things will ever return to those golden days of yesteryear.

Flame on, FReepers...

Winning? I remember a Japanese joke from World War 2. A Jap soldier or marine is speaking to a fellow grunt and says "Of course we are winning great victories. We are sinking hundreds of ships, but do you notice that the victories keep getting closer to the home islands?"

We have a pendulum shift against the left at the ballot box. But we have no more won the culture war today than the right did in 1972 when Nixon was re-elected. Look up the Hegelian Dialectic. This is antithesis against the left, but the new synthesis will be a compromise, further to the left than where we began. If you think I'm kidding, look at gay marriage. In the 1980's the idea was preposterous. A generation later, it is legal. No conservatives go to gay groups.

Actually, it's worse. The left controls culture. They dominate education, 90% of the media, the bureacracy, most corporations, and many religious institutions. They will defeat us by slowly redefining our reality, assimilating our children to their revolution, and importing a new people.

The leftist extreme is about done 0stick a fork in it...

The pendulum swings back now -usually, it swings further than anticipated or thought possible; e.g. Prohibition...

I think the financial crisis that the progressives have crawled out of the shadows to brazenly take advantage of has exposed them to the light of day -they are going down...

The supposed Age of Aquarius (actually the age of the selfish brat) has about used up its 15 minutes and left quite a tab for future generations...

The Republican party has been pandering to homosexuals for the last 20 years. That's not a new thing.

More recently homosexuals have been purged from the ranks of management in the party structure.

That's been mostly at the urging of the Democrats.
