Did the killers ask sincerely to be forgiven and then repent of their evil?

Has Horiuchi stepped up and admitted that he was wrong and offer to plead guilty in Court to the Manslaughter charges he walked on oh so many years ago?

If not then this person hasn't got a clue about the Christian concept of forgiveness.

careful now!

Jesus said “forgive them for they know not what they do”

Randy Weaver said he has only forgiven those who have admitted the truth, including four or five public officials who testified in court and a few others who later asked for forgiveness. That group, Weaver said, doesn’t include FBI sniper Lon Horiuchi or U.S. Marshal Larry Cooper and Art Roderick — the men responsible for the shootings.

Looks like Randy Weaver has the same opinion you (and I ) do.

Luk 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

It is like a pardon. If you accept the pardon it is implied you are guilty.

Thanks for posting that. Just read a story earlier this morning about the woman who got acid thrown in her face by an unknown assailant. A pastor met with her to talk about forgiveness. I don’t get it.

In man’s court, to be declared Not Guilty, you have to plead Not Guilty.

In God’s court, to be declared Not Guilty, you have to plead Guilty.

But this woman’s forgiveness is in the court of her own heart, where unforgiveness burns deep holes and causes bitterness and hate to rule and reign.

She forgave them for her own well-being.

I think you are confusing forgiveness with reconciliation.

Forgiveness is really not about the one forgiven, it's healthy for the forgiver. I am not going to criticize anyone who has gone through something like this.

You may want justice, but forgiveness is for the heart to rid itself of hate.
