Basically, the courts have said that the people can’t amend their constitution to prevent a behavior that has been illegal in most cases, and has never been permitted in the history of the republic and most of world history.
If the people don’t petition for redress of grievance on this, and petition to the Supreme Court, as part of their government, then what other avenue remains except taking the law into their own hands?
It has happened before:
"In every state of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people." 1776
